If you came out yesterday for our Best Ball Scramble, you had a great round because you were there to celebrate Elaine Omann’s hole in one on number 13. Way to go, Elaine!
Elaine was also on the winning scramble team of Osterc, Omann, Navarro, and Riewarts. We had to use a tie-breaker since the team of Hodson, Law, Wickham, and Eidson also scored a 26. Both teams had the same score on 12, but the winners came out ahead on number 10. :

Next week is an individual game Closest to the Pin on #6. Our starters are Carolyn Navarro and Joan Grant.

I think we could all agree it was a bit muggy and buggy out there today. Thankfully, that did not deter us from racking up some points in our Stableford Match. In today’s game, instead of counting our total number of strokes, we converted our scores on each hole into Stableford points: 4 points for an Eagle, 3 points for a birdie, 2 points for par, 1 point for a bogey, and 0 points for anything beyond.

After the cards were tallied, Louise, Sandy, and Georgia tied with 13 points each. Sandy was declared the winner using number 3 as the tiebreaker hole. Low Net went to Mary Law with 26. Mary also had the lowest gross at 34. Congrats!

Today's game was Odd Holes on the front 9. Congratulations to Sue Wojcik for winning the game event! The low net and low gross winners were Diane Garvey. Good job, ladies!!

Shout-out to Carol Mitchell for a chip-in eagle on number 8. That must have been a great shot to watch.

We had a good crowd this past Monday. The weather stayed dry, for the most part, but quite humid. Our game today was Just Play Golf. The winners for the game were Marsha Bryant with a Low Net of 27 (very nice) and Tina Nutty with a Low Gross of 35.

Next week's game is Odd Holes. We'll be playing the front 9 and the odd-numbered holes will be totaled for the win.

Golf Results June 22nd
Fifteen players set off to play today’s round knowing they had a gimme in their pockets. Today’s game was Mulligan Monday; each player got a do-over when they needed it most! This player used her mulligan on 15 only to have her do-over be even worse. Oh well, that’s golf.

Today’s game winner was Marcia Bryant with a 34. Our low net went to Cheryl Wilber. Congrats!
Next week, we will be playing Par Fours on the front nine. This is another individual game. Our starters are Diane Garvey and Elaine Omann.

We have a scramble scheduled for July 6th; however, since this is the end of a busy holiday weekend, we are changing it to Just Play Golf! We do need starters for the 6th.

P.S. Thank you to the golf angel who brought in the new birdie and eagle template. I saw them in the cubbies after our round and after I made my sticker squares. It is great to have both in stock!

Golf Joke of the week: Ok, it is a little creepy!

Jane sliced her ball deep into a wooded ravine and climbed down with a 7-iron to look for it. After hacking through the brush for a few minutes, she saw something shiny.

It was a skeleton lying beside an old golf ball, still clutching a 7-iron.

Jane looked up toward the fairway and shouted, “Hey Sue, throw me my 8-iron. Apparently, you can’t get out of here with a seven.”

June is right around the corner, and we would love to see you tee it up with us at Sherwood Forest.

With a one-time league fee of $20 and green fees of $14 each week, which include a free pull cart, everyone is welcome to join throughout the summer. Our 2026 season runs until October 6th, giving you plenty of time to work on your short game, make those birdies, and hit those chip-ins and long putts.
This upcoming Monday, June 1st, is our Choker Scramble followed by lunch at the OutPost. We will tee off at 9 AM, so please arrive by 8:30 AM to allow our starters to organize the teams.

We had a small group yesterday, so thanks to those who came out to play. The rain and fog cleared, and the course was not as wet as we had expected.

The game was even holes on the back nine, so the winner was the lowest score of the even holes. Tina Nutty won the game. Low net winner was Sandy Golnick, and Low gross was Tina Nutty. Congratulations

May 4th start time is 10:00 AM! Yes, we're supposed to move our start time to 9:00 AM, but due to the forecasted chilly morning, we will stick with 10:00 AM. Please arrive by 9:30 so we can organize our teams for the 123 Waltz. Lunch at the OutPost to follow. The course is looking gorgeous, so don't miss out!
