I don’t know about you, but restful sleep has become more challenging for me as I age and deal with different health issues. I have been using slow release melatonin for years to support my body’s natural sleep cycle and won’t go a night without it because it helps me so much.

•Promotes healthy sleep‡
•Supports the body’s circadian rhythm, endocrine secretions, and sleep patterns‡
•Sustained release allows for absorption over a longer time period
•Melatonin-SR provides sustained-release MicroActive® melatonin
•Made with high-quality vegan ingredients backed by verifiable science

Melatonin-SR provides sustained-release MicroActive® melatonin to promote healthy sleep. Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland, which regulates the body’s sleep/wake cycle.1 Melatonin’s primary role is regulation of the body’s circadian rhythm, endocrine secretions and sleep patterns. Studies indicate that it facilitates the onset of sleep, as well as sleep efficiency.2 MicroActive® is an innovative, patented delivery system that offers both improved absorption and sustained release. A pharmacokinetic study of MicroActive® melatonin demonstrated rapid uptake and prolonged presence in plasma up to six hours after a single dose.‡

Why can two people be exposed to the same mold… but only one gets sick?

Mold exists everywhere—but our bodies don’t all process and clear its toxins the same way.

For some people, those toxins can begin to build up like trash in a landfill. Eventually, that “landfill” can overflow, affecting everything from the lungs and immune system to hormones, the brain, skin, and more.

In this clip, Dr. Eric Potter explains why individual sensitivity and the body’s ability to clear toxins can make such a difference when it comes to mold exposure.

7 spinal surgeries, chronic pain, broken hardware, pregnancy after spinal fusion—and a life that scoliosis does not define. 🤍

Amanda Alvarado is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, serves as the program director for the Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program, and practices clinically with the congenital heart surgery team at Dell Children’s Medical Center—but she’s also lived through an incredibly complex scoliosis journey.

In this episode of What Helps Us Heal, Amanda shares what she’s learned about:
✨ Finding the right surgeon
✨ Advocating for yourself
✨ Knowing your body
✨ Navigating pregnancy after fusion
✨ Moving forward through difficult seasons

Her message is simple: You are your own advocate. And scoliosis does not own you.

Scoli poll time (for Erin to do off the books research here):

1. If you’re perimenopausal, menopausal, or postmenopausal are you doing HRT?
2. If so, what are you taking? (The options are so vast.)
3. When did you start it?
4. What outcomes have you had from it?
5. Has it affected your scoliosis?

Once I get through this period of my life, get my hormones all figured out, reconcile that with the scoliosis hormonal research, and hear from all of you, I am quite sure that I will finally have enough information to do a much-needed podcast on scoliosis and HRT. In the meantime, I would love any and all information you guys can give me on this topic that you have found beneficial.
