Three rooms were connected together to provide a very safe method of lifting this client - living room, bedroom and bathroom - using a Molift Nomad Portable Motor. There was a load bearing wall that could not be altered, so the Under-the-Door feature of this lift worked perfectly. This client is lifted 50-60 times per day by the caregivers and family, so you can imagine how difficult that was for them - she weighs over 100 pounds now! The traversing room covering rail in the living room allows for transfer anywhere in that room, including the front door when needed. We just finished another successful Surehands lift system installation in Capitola, California.

This one is for a senior who struggled with transfers to the bed, wheelchair and toilet. Her caregivers love it already for managing toileting - it’s so easy to remove and put pants back on.

This one has a skylight that we worked around and the installation looks very clean and simple. With this layout, there was no need to go into the shower with the track. My customer ordered a rolling shower chair to move from the shower to in front of the toilet for transfers therefore keeping the wood floor dry when the shower chair gets wet.

Note also that the end of the track has a 90 degree curve, which keeps the lift parked against the wall and out of the way of her husband who gets up at night and we did not want the Surehands Body Support to be in his way. The 9’ ceilings in this house are great for lifting higher over the bed, so if you are in the planning stages of building a home or doing an addition, go ahead and plan the buildout with taller ceilings and 2”x 6” wood joists - you will be happy you did to accommodate the lift system.

Several feature-length and short films that premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival explicitly included disability as a central or integrated part of their storytelling. We recently posted a video about a new adult-size changing table in a bathroom at the Minneapolis airport, and to our surprise, it went a bit viral! Unfortunately, the comment section was filled with hundreds of nasty comments saying that we are “lying” because I “obviously” use a diaper to go to the bathroom. Many of these comments were quite derogatory too.

First things first: There’s no shame in needing to use a diaper. For many people, it’s just an accessibility tool that makes life easier. If you can’t accept or respect that, we are fundamentally not compatible as people and I’d kindly invite you to go far away.

Next: I do not use a diaper. I use other accessories to help me use the bathroom, but not a diaper. However, the comments on that video made clear that many people don’t know how I use the bathroom, and that they are curious about the subject.

So for the purposes of education and awareness, we just uploaded a new video that details exactly how I carry out ALL of my bathroom activities.
