Proficiency golf tip for Memorial Day.

Tempo is the key for a repeatable consistent golf swing. It helps you keep your balance and swing on plane. People who get anxious over the ball rush their backswings, and as a consequence they foul up their downswings. You don’t hit the ball on the backswing, there is no rush!

You need to develop a backswing that gets the club to the proper position, pause, then start your downswing and follow thru.

A good drill to achieve this is a three ball drill. Place 3 balls in a row on the ground and hit them one at a time without stopping. Go back & forth hitting all 3 shots without resetting your stance.
When you do this, you can’t can’t rush your backswing or the start of your downswing.

By the time you hit the third ball you should have developed a nice tempo. Do it several times, then as soon as you feel that nice tempo,try to repeat it on the course.
