I want to share something very personal and meaningful with you.

As you may know, I’ve been navigating a colon cancer journey this year. Through it all, I’ve been reminded again and again how powerful love, encouragement, early detection, and support can be.

To my surprise, some dear friends got together and created a beautiful Twilly scarf in my honor — and I’m so touched by the thought and love behind it.

When I see this scarf, I see love, hope, friendship, and a reminder of how important early screening can be. Whether you wear it, tie it in your hair, or add it to a purse or saddle, it’s a beautiful way to carry that message forward.

Proceeds from each scarf will benefit colorectal cancer awareness, screening, and research. You can see more images of the scarf here.

My hope is that this scarf serves as a gentle reminder to get screened, take care of your precious body, and encourage the people you love to do the same.

Thank you for being part of this with me. Your love, prayers, encouragement, and support mean more than I can ever fully express.

With love, gratitude, and faith,

Barb

I was getting ready to video on horseback this week, when a downpour of rain came along - so here you go - I'm in the barn.

I share a very simple 2-part path to help you let go of heavy, degrading thoughts (e.g., seeing the worst in ourselves, others, our horses, etc.) and replace them with a more empowering mindset.

It's all in the video. Salem has a body language comment at the end. Ha!

I took a ride out in the west 20 acres 😊 of our 40 acres and made a little video about what horses can teach us about navigating fear. It's a great lesson; it works, and it's quite profound in its simplicity.

All is going well here. I'm moving forward, and forever grateful for each day.

Let me know in the comments how you liked the 'fear' lesson our horses have to share with us.

Happy week,

Barb

It's been a while since you've seen me in the saddle on Salem - and I'm thrilled to be there. As we all know, horses are healing.

In this video, I'm in full cowgirl style rags - LOL. (I have that headgear on because I'm not supposed to allow the sun to touch my body because of the chemo.)

In the video, I give a broad overview of what I've been doing on Salem to keep him coming along and growing into a wonderful, responsive riding horse whose training could take him in many different directions.

After you watch the video, if you like, ask a question in the comments. You might just give me a great idea for my next video. 😊

Although many people are aware, you may not be, that I am on a healing journey from Colon Cancer.

My surgery was in January and went very well. I am now recovered from that and am about midway through chemotherapy.

The fabulous news is that my pathology report was great - nothing in the lymph nodes. My oncologist wants me to do chemo as a kind of insurance that no insidious microcells linger only to emerge later. All chemo will be completed in August.

I am beyond grateful for my wonderful family, friends, and horses who continue to support me through this adventure. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The video below is a brief summary of where I am now on my healing path.
