Team “ Mayura Pravaaha” - National Champions🏆🏆🏆 1st place- Junior Group- at American Natya Idol Nationals - My heart is overflowing with joy and gratitude as Mayura Pravaaha, representing Mayura Academy, secured 1st Place in the Junior Group Category at the prestigious American Natya Idol National Finals held in St. Louis, Missouri.
Competing against 25 talented teams from across the United States, our young dancers showcased exceptional dedication, teamwork, discipline, and artistry, emerging as National Champions in their category. This is undoubtedly one of the proudest moments in the journey of Mayura Academy.
Watching these students pour their hearts into every rehearsal, overcome challenges, and shine on a national stage is a reward beyond words. This victory is a testament to their hard work, perseverance, and unwavering passion for Bharatanatyam.
While this was one of the proudest moments of my journey as a Guru, it was also bittersweet that I could not be physically present with my girls on that special day due to my travel to India. My heart, however, was right there with them every step of the way. Thanks to nonstop video calls, I was able to share their excitement, calm their nerves, cheer them on, and celebrate this incredible achievement from afar. Distance may have kept me away from the stage, but it could never keep me away from my students.
My sincere pranams to my Guru, Madurai Shri R. Muralidharan Sir, for his constant guidance, blessings, encouragement, and unwavering support. His mentorship continues to inspire us to strive for excellence while remaining rooted in tradition.
I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Shri Prasanna Kasturi for organizing the American Natya Idol competition and providing a wonderful platform for young dancers across the country to showcase their talent and celebrate the beauty of Indian classical dance.
A big shout out to the moms for being strong and supportive throughout this entire journey especially in my absence. Thank you Rishika for giving them practice them in my absence and fine tuning them.
