In other words, there isn’t anything special about bump skiing. It doesn’t take strength or power, just accuracy and control. When starting to ski moguls find some blue bumps like these and focus on making slow round turns.

What does good skiing look like? It doesn't matter if you are making pizza turns on green runs or tackling double black bumps. Good skiing requires:

-Tipping and turning movements initiating and coming mostly from the legs while keeping the upper body quiet.

-Balancing over the outside ski.

-Standing mostly over the middle of the skis, with slight adjustments as needed.

-Managing the changing pressure resulting from how the ski interacts with the snow surface.

The terrain, task, and speed, might change how we accomplish these things, but it doesn't change what we are fundamentally trying to do. Come take a private lesson with me this year, and let's work on your skiing goals.
