We had a nice couple come in for a basic skills workshop yesterday, and they were pinging the steel!

So, let's list our favorite locally owned fi****ms stores and gunsmiths to give them a boost. No negative comments, please. Only positive recommendations!

I wonder how many buyers are aware that the privately owned fi****ms stores have been suffering over the last year. I know it's easy to go to the big box stores for a purchase, especially when you might save $20-$25.

What you lose by not utilizing the privately owned stores is more than you may realize. Having a good relationship with a local owner ensures you have access to a gunsmith and personalized service after your purchase. You also lose some good recommendations, and other services such a Cerakote services. The ability to trade in your firearm for something different, and transfer services if you choose to pass on one of your tools to a family member or friend. Your local shop also has access to the bells and whistles you may want to add to your firearm later. They can replace that "spring" for you and install the new trigger.

They are also usually able to hook you up with a good instructor should you need that.

Big box stores aren't as likely to suffer if you choose to purchase from a local, privately owned shop. This isn't their bread and butter. They have many other items to keep them above water.
Your local shop does not. Fi****ms are their speciality. Without those sales, they don't survive.

Your local shop owner loves your community. He or she has likely invested all of their savings and time into building and keeping their shop going. They have personal and caring relationships with their customers. They live and bank locally. They have a heart for what they are doing.

I fear we won't realize the treasure we have in them until it's too late.

It’s a beautiful day to go to the range!

Above all, we wish you Jesus, the Christ. Merry Christmas, everyone.

If I (at 65) can pick up the hundred or so rounds you left behind on the cowboy steel range, I’m convinced that with a little cheering on, you could have too! Call us next time and we will stand out there and clap for you while you clean up your mess. You can do it!!!!
