Joel Baker is a graduate of the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at Yoga Garden in San Francisco, which focused on alignment-based hatha yoga from the teachings of Krishnamacharya, the teacher of B.K.S. Iyengar (Iyengar yoga), Pattabhi Jois (Ashtanga yoga), and T.V.K. He has built a solid foundation of technical excellence combined with philosophical depth while studying under Cora Wen, Laur

ie Sleep, Stacey Swan, Jon Isaacs, David Nelson, and Karen Macklin. Joel specializes in inversions and has been practicing hand-balancing for almost 20 years. In addition to teaching yoga, Joel is a professional circus artist and has performed with Cirque du Soleil and other outstanding circus theater companies worldwide. For 7 years, he was a key performer—and additionally served as an Artistic Coach—in the award-winning Cirque du Soleil show LOVE on the Las Vegas Strip. Joel is a graduate of San Francisco Circus Center where he began incorporating acrobatics, handstands, and chair balancing into physical comedy. He is available for private lessons and workshops in inversions and welcomes opportunities to teach Ashtanga and Hatha yoga classes for adults and children.
