Well if it isn't obvious we're gonna call it a season. And what a great season it was. We will be preparing some winter metrics and thank you messages to all of our members and visitors in the next few weeks as we work in the background to button things up for the summer.

Welcome to daylight savings time...yeah that's right you just lost a perfectly good hour. The hut will be open today for perhaps the final time this season. We're not going to cry uncle yet, because we've had the hut open in April before, but you may want to stop in to say bye to Suzie for the season. No grooming today or for the foreseeable future. The plan this week is to keep the trails open through Thursday because how often can you experience the novelty of skiing in 70 degree weather? Things are likely to get very soft and we'll start to see some ponding pretty quick. Not great conditions for skate skiers, but a great time for the most historic pair of wooden three-pin skis you can find. Looking pretty rainy Thursday, so we will plan to close after Wednesday skiing under any circumstances. This time of the year the turf lords are watching, so we want to be sure to protect the golf course, as such we will be watching conditions closely and may have to close down before Thursday.

Brattleboro Winter Carnival Week! Blue bird day. Trails and Hut will be open today. We were able to nicely comb out and track Dog Trot, Euphoria, and the fairway trails this morning. With help from a small corps of volunteers our plan is to have the Hut open all week in recognition of Winter Carnival.

Red sky morning, sailors take warning!

Welcome to the weekend (almost). Here is the BOC trail condition report through Sunday. The Hut will be open this weekend for rentals. We have great base, but definitely in need of a refresh. For today we groomed the skate lanes on the fairways and Dog Trot before we were driven off by warm temps. It's something like a sugary mashed potato. Lot of questions about accumulation overnight and our ability to manage the snow in the am. But the plan is to get out and start grooming predawn. With a little luck we'll have some new snow and some classic tracks set by mid morning. We expect to be able to open up all of our terrain by mid day Sunday. Reminder to be nice to Glenn (the plow guy) and park to one side the parking lot. Speaking of accumulation, we are getting quite a pile in the lost and found. I may not be able to resist wearing that really nice fleece strawberry hat found in the parking lot. Stop in the hut this weekend and let us know what you are missing.

Hey Skiers! Another reminder...please please please stay clear of the Windham Regional Career Center students conducting tree work on 10th Tee. We had another interaction yesterday. The trails have been clearly marked as closed (with V-boards), we've left messages at the kiosk, posted messages on TrailHub, and we stopped grooming that area almost two weeks ago...so hopefully abundantly clear about where not to go.

Welcome to Euphoria! We have opened a new loop thanks to our longstanding partnership with the Retreat Farm . They generously allow the community to ski on Dogtrott Loop and Dunham Field Loop. Euphoria is a 1k loop, double tracked for classic and combed for skating. It is one of the few flat loops on our system. The hardest part about Euphoria is getting there. You'll need to take our Freedom Loop, and remove your skis to cross upper Dummerston Road. You may not want to come back home. Couple of ground rules. Please continue to park at the hut and start your adventure there by signing in at the kiosk. Please do not park anywhere else to access our ski trails. As of right now, no dogs on Euphoria, just on our Dogtrott Loop.

XC in our Community Backyard

Our Brattleboro Outing Club Ski Hut is the gateway to Vermont skiing and snowshoeing. We are the first nordic area as you head north, off Exit 2 of I-91. Just two miles from town, at the Brattleboro Country Club, the BOC Ski Hut is where friends and family meet for a winter’s outing. Gently rolling fairway trails are groomed with as little as two inches of snow. Forest trails wind through more challenging terrain that promise to pump your heart and nurture your nature.

Trails are open and groomed regularly when snow and weather warrant. Our warming hut is open most weekends and holidays staffed by volunteer ambassadors who orient guests, size rentals, and serve hot cocoa.

Guests are welcome 24/7 to try our superb system of trails-- just sign in at the trailhead and deposit the guest fee in the honor box when the hut is closed.

For nearly a century, the BOC has organized programs, in sync with the seasons, that draw folks outdoors in healthy recreation. We welcome you to join with us to sustain skiing in our community backyard. Together, we make winter happen!
