VAC gathering for another great practice! Colder weather doesn't deter us from doing our best! How was your weekend?

Last Saturday VAC took part in a small tournament at an idyllic homestead in Southern Vermont. The 5 fighters all fought eachother in 3 round matches using a mix of weapon types, from arming swords to large tree limbs (these came into play after some polearm malfunctions!)

We also had an equal number of members show up as support staff to help run the event, marshal, count strikes and assist the fighters. Wonderful photos courtesy of Mikey Hindes

On Sunday morning 9/14/25 Britt O'Connor survived a terrifying car accident when their car flipped off exit 2 on I-91. They were rushed to the hospital with a compound vertebrae fracture and other injuries. They underwent emergency 4 hour surgery at Dartmouth and while they are incredibly grateful to be alive — and for the outpouring of love from friends and community — recovery will be long and difficult.

As a club we're proud and excited to have fielded 5 members of VAC at the Knights Hall annual event, Rookie Rumble. The club has grown from humble beginnings to a group that can see batches of "rookie" (under two years in steel) members participating in this fantastic event.

Congrats to our fighters for slogging through and sticking out the many rounds of the event, and our appreciation goes out to additional members and partners who supported those in steel. Til next year!
