(LAVONIA, GEORGIA) Round thirteen of the Schaeffer's Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series schedule took place on Saturday evening at Lavonia Speedway and it was Frankie Beard that was awarded the $2,000 winner’s check. Frankie, who topped the speed chart during qualifying to earn Fast Time honors, officially led the first twenty-one circuits in the headliner before giving way to apparent winner Trent Ivey on the twenty-second lap. Ivey reached the checkered flag first, but was disqualified during post-race tech for having too many spring rubbers in the right rear.

Fourth-starting Dale Timms was credited with a strong runner-up performance, while Luke Clements stormed past eighteen competitors to land on the podium in third. Brandon Haley, who started ninth on the grid in the 25-lapper, finished fourth and Chase Watkins earned the final spot inside of the top five on Saturday at the Lavonia, Georgia oval.

A strong field of 26 Red Clay 602 Late Model Series competitors were on hand at Lavonia Speedway to compete in the special Saturday Night Shootout. Luke Cooper laid down the quickest lap during RaceDay Safety hot laps before Frankie Beard blasted around the Lavonia speedplant in a mere 17.408 seconds during Knowles Race Parts and Bodies qualifying to earn the Fast Time award. The entire feature field was set through the time trial session, as four competitors wound up scratching for the evening following qualifications.

Next up for the Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series will be a visit to Laurens County Speedway in Laurens, South Carolina on Saturday, September 12. A $2,500 payday will be up for grabs in the third and final stop by the series to the Palmetto State venue. Nick Deitz took the checkered flag back on April 18, while Dale Timms was victorious on July 31. More information on the track can be accessed online by logging onto www.laurensspeedway.com.

(TOCCOA, GEORGIA) The Schaeffer's Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series visited Toccoa Raceway on Thursday night for the track’s 71st Anniversary Race and it was Luke Cooper that celebrated in victory lane! Luke, who laid down the quickest lap in Group B and overall during qualifying to earn Fast Time honors earlier in the evening, led each of the 25 circuits in the headliner to earn his first Red Clay Series victory of the season. The young Woodruff, South Carolina ace picked up a $2,000 payday for his dominating performance that also vaulted him up inside of the top five in the latest series point standings.

Eli Reece started third and finished in the runner-up spot at Toccoa Raceway, while polesitter Clint Cash survived several incidents during the contest to land on the podium in third. Eleventh-starting Sylvan Schuette steered past seven competitors to land in the fourth position and Brandon Stroud ran a solid race to claim the final spot inside of the top five at the Toccoa, Georgia facility.

A total of 19 Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series competitors were in the pit area on Thursday at Toccoa Raceway for round twelve of the tour. Frankie Beard topped the speed chart during RaceDay Safety hot laps with a time of 13.917 seconds, while Luke Cooper went quickest in Knowles Race Parts and Bodies qualifying with a fast lap of 13.458 seconds.

The 25-lapper was slowed by four caution flags, three of which were multi-car accidents that occurred before even the first lap was officially in the books. The final yellow flag flew on lap nine when series point leader Dawson Lowe experienced terminal mechanical issues under the hood of his #16 racecar.
