Hi paddle friends!! I have not been teaching private lessons, but with the season up and running, if you need advice or want a beginners lesson let me know.
There are a couple of safety pointers I want all my friends to know when paddling on the lake.
1. Your board is considered a vessel and you need a life jacket with you when you paddle. Ideally, you are wearing it. If for some reason you are doing a workout or an activity that you are restricted by a life vest get a PFD belt. These can be bought on amazon.
2. Do not stand up on your board until you are at least 6 feet from any land or structure. If you are too close to a dock, boat, or even land and fall you can seriously injure yourself. If you hit your head on the dock or a boat and fall in it's a recipe for disaster.
3. Look up Paddle Tips on youtube and watch an expert paddle. Most paddlers hold their paddle backwards and do not paddle properly. It sounds silly but if you aren't doing it efficiently you wont enjoy it as much....and it's SO FUN!!!
4. Even though I don't push my paddle business, I am always available for advice or tips on what to buy or where to paddle. I will forever love paddle boarding!
Be safe!
