Hey friends! I’ve changed the time and day for my Pilates Matt class at Branford Fitness to Thursdays at 11 am.

Pilates is a low-impact exercise system that focuses on strengthening muscles, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall body alignment. It was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Pilates emphasizes core strength, controlled movements, and proper breathing techniques. The exercises can be performed on a mat or with specialized equipment like the Reformer and Cadillac.

Here are some key principles of Pilates:

1. Core Strength: Focuses on the muscles around the abdomen, lower back, and pelvis (often called the “powerhouse”).
2. Breathing: Proper breath control is emphasized to assist in movement and relaxation.
3. Controlled Movements: Every motion is performed with precision and control.
4. Flexibility: Stretches and exercises help increase flexibility and range of motion.
5. Posture and Alignment: Correcting posture and body alignment is a primary goal.

Pilates is often used for fitness, rehabilitation, and improving overall body mechanics. It is suitable for people of various fitness levels

Join us Friday nights on the Suwannee River for some great training!

First ever Beach Coach Bingle club season is kicking off in May!

Practices will be twice a week, players will train for 1 1/2 hours either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. We will train on the beach just south of the Jax Beach Pier. Practices will be in the afternoons to start but I’m thinking if the players that are still in school would like to move to mornings when school is out I’m all for it, it’s better to train in the mornings anyway — especially in the summer.

You will train in groups then the coaches will pair you up to play in the FCVA tournaments in Jax Beach. You will need an AVP America membership which I believe is $25 but that covers an entire year of tournaments.

Cost for the club season is $1200 ($300/month) and will run May - August. Entry fees for the tournaments run around $70/team and I didn’t want to include that in the club price in case someone can’t play.

Come get quality training from experienced coaches who love beach volleyball and take your game to the next level.
