As much as I REALLY hoped Johnny would have wanted to follow in his step brothers footsteps in the jumper arena, Johnny has decided he wants to go another direction.

Better late than never… delayed post for Jump4Fun at Upperville! This show is one of our favorites each year - it’s an amazing venue, lovely courses and the atmosphere is unbeatable. Riders and horses were all fabulous! Big congrats to… Ellie and J P Sullivan for making their ‘debut’ at a brand new venue for them. Lauren Buerk, thank you for all your help! Olivia Colfer and Summer at the Spa also made their show debut! Kayla Hall and Rock Hard Body ventured back to the show ring and what a great show to kick off the season. Celia Bote and Banksy had lovely, consistent rounds. Bonnie Greenslade and Future Prince had their most consistent courses to date. Samantha Ann Watts and Sweet Georgia Peach ventured to the ‘dark side’ and played in the jumper ring! A big thanks to Midori Melvin and Chris Boarman for tagging along and providing extra hands! And Ashley Brooks for stopping by and saying ‘hi’.

Poles. Footwork. Great jumping efforts. It was awesome to see the progress each horse and rider made as the lessons progressed!

Bays for days… minus Diana! What a great lesson plan this week - poles, footwork and leaving the horses be to do their job. It’s amazing how much our ‘micromanaging’ creates inconsistency even if it is not our intention.

Buffy is such a fun ride! Kristin piloted her today for a jump school and it’s so much fun watching this mare do what she loves!

Name of the game this week… trot fences, poles and footwork to create balance and thus a better, more round and freer jump.

Fiona! This little mare just makes me enjoy her more and more every time I swing my leg over. Shes so willing and kind. And just so, so smart… she’s like a sponge. I just adore her…what a gem!
