o Evening availability preferred, but not required

SAARC is hosting another Music Happy Hour (in person) this Friday, September 17 5 pm with the sounds of Blues artist, Anthony “Swamp Dog” Clark! Come join us for a full hour of live music. By the way, do we mention . . . it's a free event!

Anthony Clark is a world class musician who has performed, and recorded with some of the best local and national blues acts and has won the Washington Battle Of The Blues Bands, representing the area in Memphis TN in 2011 finishing in the semi-finals. Anthony started out playing the drums at the age of five, and by the time he was twelve, started listening to the blues greats.

Musicians like Little Walter, Big Walter Horton, Paul Butterfield, and Sonny Boy Williamson, just to name a few. The band has played up and down the east coast, from Pennsylvania, to Tennessee. His CD “RAW” has been featured on many college, and Internet radio stations. The music is a blistering mix of contemporary blues with a funk edge. Today you can see Anthony “Swamp Dog” Clark at various festivals, and clubs opening for the likes of Chuck Brown, Deanna Boggart, and Betty Lavette. He has also played alongside Joe Louis Walker, and Kenny Neal.

National Recording Artist Kevin Howard is a world class keyboardist,writer,composer and producer. Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and now living in Maryland.

Kevin was honored as Jazz artist of the year 2018 by the Pennsylvania House of Representative which he was recognized on the floor in Harrisburg,PA. and received a citation to honor him. In addition Kevin has received several awards which include three “Best Jazz Performer Awards” from renowned local urban radio station WAMO; the WQED Harry Schwab Excellence in the arts award; Best Jazz Performer Champions Association; Pittsburgh City Paper “top three jazz performers”. Kevin, along with his band served as the Pittsburghʼs WJJJ Smooth Jazz Band for more than two years, performing at various events sponsored by the radio station.

Kevin recently toured with and was the musical director for jazz saxophone legend Ronnie Laws, also recorded and performed with saxophonist Marion Meadows, Norman Connors, Lonnie Liston Smith, Najee, and George Benson. In addition has shared the stage with Jonathan Butler, Cameo,Roy Ayers, Pieces of a dream, Joe McBride and John Legend.
