This is a post I’d never think to make when Sublime’s journey began just a few years back.
Sammy Jo Galica, a friend to so many, what a blessing it was to have you in our lives. Through the good, bad, and ugly, there will never be another so passionate and bright as you. A woman who wore her heart on her sleeve and loved so freely, gone too soon.
Your departure has left a abyss here at the farm you so cherished, and it is my strong belief that you are walking hand in hand with your parents around the property like you so yearned to do.
The horse industry grieves you, your barn family grieves you, and I’ve told your dogs you always intended to return.
Where there is this grief there is love. All of us feeling your heavy absence cries with memories of the life you lived, and with the realization of the years you didn’t.
If we could turn our grief into time, we will remember you for an eternity.
We will remember you for far longer than we have known you. We will remember the laughs and the silly things you did. We will remember the lessons you taught and the horses you touched. We will remember your footsteps over this farm and the immense love you held in your heart for it.
For now, the sun shines bright where you are. There are no troubles or worries, and the birds sing above you with peace and joy. The people and animals you mourned are sitting by your side. You are looking down at us with that same big smile and mischievous eyes.
We are grateful for you.
We are grateful to you.
Until we meet again, Sammy.
