PROTECT YA NECK. Whether you get a stinger from a training session, or you just accumulate mileage from training for a long period of time, our cervical spine takes a lot of compression in grappling, and the effects of this are compounded by our societal tendencies to sit a lot and look down at screens. Acute injury like stingers can cause mobility limitations temporarily, but long term compression can cause things like migraines (which is what I’ve experienced).
Here, Dr. Brumfield demonstrates some simple home remedies for decompressing the nerves in your cervical spine. Give it a shot, and give him a call and tell him thank you when it helps you feel better!
