In real self‑defense, open guard is not a “position to play” — it’s a temporary survival platform that lets you create distance, kick the attacker away, stand up, or sweep to escape. The goal is never to stay on your back and “do jiu‑jitsu.” The goal is to get up and get out using Jiu - Jitsu.

MSTA - Friday’s 6PM Foundational Combat Systems is a beginner‑focused self‑defense framework that teaches awareness, boundaries, and simple, high‑percentage physical skills designed to help everyday people recognize danger early, respond decisively, and escape safely.
