There’s some big transitions happening over here at MG Fitness!

I have accepted a full time position teaching Chemistry at the community college where I’ve been working part-time for the past 8 years. I am so excited for this new role, it’s a dream job for me. With all the happiness there’s a lot of reorganization that I’m working on, figuring out kid stuff, availability for training, and balancing my time as best I can.

I am planning on putting a hold on training in the late summer/early fall, and I won’t be able to take on new clients until at least 2025. I love and am committed to my clients and I very much appreciate their love and support. I have the best community here and I’m so grateful for my friends that come to work out with me each week.

I am excited for what the future holds for me and for my business as change always brings creativity and a fresh perspective. Love to you all 💕

Day 21: At the end of 2024, what do you want your life to look like?
We have another 12 months to put in the work, to assess what’s best for ourselves, to reflect and work on any aspect of your life: career, relationships with family and friends, relationship with yourself and your body, health and wellness, finances, your home, your happiness. All of these things (and more) make up your life.
What do you want? How can you make the changes necessary to get closer to where you want to be?

My vision:
The biggest takeaway from this challenge would be to highlight what you need to improve yourself. Some of these tasks may not have been meaningful for you. Some of them, hopefully, made an impact. Even just the routine of it may have been helpful. My goal for everyone is to just take some small aspects of the past 21 days and use them to make 3 months from now “you” happier and healthier. Then you can make 6 month “you” better and next year “you” closer to who you want to be.

Write some ideas down for yourself today! Please reach out to me if you need any help or guidance!

Day 20!! Saturday “every minute on the minute” EMOM.
Originally I had said 10 push-ups at the top of each min for 10 mins but there’s been a lot of those this challenge so do those push-ups if you like them but otherwise choose any exercise that you’ll actually do today and do it! Make sure you’re dressed appropriately as shown in today’s picture.

Day 17: already?! Eat some fruit!
Fruit has been a hot topic lately bc of the sugar content but fruit has so much fiber and micronutrients that the sugar isn’t a deal breaker here. Fruit is colorful and delicious and should be a regular part of a balanced diet. That being said, some people are allergic or have issues digesting some fruits so remember that there are colorful fruits that are always categorized as vegetables (like tomatoes, avocado and cucumbers).

Always eat to your tastes and sensitivities but enjoy some fruit today! I always have grapes, berries, bananas and apples stocked bc it’s a colorful menu option for my kiddos and a delicious snack for me!

Day 16: TV cardio. I love to save my guilty pleasure media for the treadmill or the bike. I’ve been watching the Flatshare (based on the book…highly recommend) and I’ll probably finish that while I cycle today. This show isn’t trashy per se but I can’t watch while the kids are around so cardio time it is!

Day 14: “Cheat day” the one where you make your life easier and buy some prepared foods! Rotisserie chicken or frozen grilled chicken, frozen burgers or meatballs (turkey or beef), frozen vegetables, quick rice, frozen potatoes…the list goes on.

I’ve been using the onion and pepper frozen blend a lot lately to add to ground turkey, and having some prepared chicken or meatballs is always easy for the kids. Quick cooking or frozen rice and quinoa can be super helpful to have on hand. Make meals a little easier, my friends. 🥕🌶️🍠🥗🌮

Day 12: Take the night off from alcohol. What will I do tonight? Probably pet my dog and fall asleep early bc 👵🏼
Sometimes I find it helpful to reflect on how alcohol plays into my life. How am I using it? Is it for fun? To have something other than water? Because I’m stressed and I need something to help? There are varying levels of how we use alcohol in our lives. There’s nothing wrong with how you choose to use it but sometimes it’s just good to think about it. How is it affecting your goals?

Also I had a conversation with some friends that are doing the challenge but not posting. I love when people follow along on their own. Do the tasks that are meaningful in your life or that you want to do! Skip or modify the ones that don’t fit as well. I see you, my silent followers. ❤️❤️ I’m glad you’re all here.

Day 10: Detox day and we’re not talking juice cleanses)! You are what you consume, so be really selective!!

Declutter, remove the unnecessary, unfollow accounts that don’t align with your goals or any accounts that make you feel not great about yourself. It’s not that these accounts are bad in any way…it’s more of a “it’s not you it’s me” thing where these things don’t serve you.

Unsubscribe to emails that you never open and don’t care about. Less chaos, less stuff, less energy means we can put that energy into things that matter!

Day 8: Pick me “UP” workout for your Monday!
Step ups : try not to push off that back leg. Lean forward a bit and push with the lead leg. Alternate leg for 16 reps.
Sit-ups or crunches. You can add weight if you want! Do 8!
Push-ups: use an incline, use the floor, just do negatives (lower slowly on the ground and get up from the knees) do 4!
