The Comets had their Sectional meet tonight! For most it's their last meet and if you're lucky you move on to the state tournament. Plenty of personal records were ran. Our lone Comet Zoe Hassett was the only state qualifier. She made it in the 400. If you remember she was .26 off the school record a few weeks ago. The last few weeks have not been favorable to runners including cold rain and 30+ mph winds. She finally caught a break despite temps hovering near 90° tonight. She ran well below the automatic qualifying time and placed 2nd in 1:01.52. School record is only .01 seconds away. Zoe will be down in Charleston next Thursday to get her name on the record board and hopefully a state medal!
