With John’s 5th birthday in October that makes him eligible to race a motorized kart next year. He’s beyond excited as are we. This announcement is a formal invitation to anyone and everyone who would like to be a part of his journey in racing. He hasn’t chose or decided on a number or colors yet but we have room for partners. Everything raised, donated or sponsored for John will souly go to building his kart and safety equipment. If you are interested comment below, send a message, or get ahold of his mom or dad directly. Thank you everyone who looks forward to our updates.

8-7-26 Race Recap:

We were finally able to get John out to his first race this year. We attended Grundy County Speedway juice box race and had some fun during their intermission. John had three races.

Race 1: Started 1st finished 4th after a early spin
Race 2: Started mid pack finished 6th after a lot of crazy racing
Race 3: Started dead last and finished I believe 7th it’s hard to tell with all the kids having fun and spinning and drifting etc.

Although we like keeping track of results we use this to get the feel of driving, learning skills and developing good habits and race kraft. Main goal is to have fun and he did.

We can’t thank Cheryl Hryn and Cheryl Hryn Racing 4 Kids enough for creating these events and getting everyone into it. It has grown so much over the short time it has been around and John loves her and everyone who comes.

Also can’t thank Eddie Wolf and Kelly Wolf enough for getting in on the fun and showing extra support and care for all the kids involved.

6-13-26 Race Recap:

First I have to start by saying thank you to John Griffin and Alex for allowing me to wheel their car this year to get tracks and things I’ve never done scratched off my to do list. Secondly I have to thank Richard Shouse for prepping these cars all night Friday to make this possible.
Thirdly I’d like to thank Spoon River Speedway for the hospitality and for working with us to run at their track for the night. We unloaded knowing nothing about the track so after the drivers meeting we got 3 practice/qualifying laps running 20.4, heat race came and we started 4th the track slicked up and we brought it home 3rd running a 19.3. Feature race I started 6th and after taking the green the car briefly shut off lost all power, after shaking the car with the steering wheel and my body it came back to life we dropped to last, after some hard racing and a few cautions we were able to race back up to 4th running a 18.9. It was a blast and I learned a lot. Next race date TBD.
