Today is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, and for many, it’s also International Yoga Day.
While I don’t personally celebrate International Yoga Day, I do honor what yoga has meant in my own life.
Yoga isn’t something I practice one day a year. It’s not a performance, a photo, a challenge, or a trend. It’s a lifelong relationship with self-study, presence, healing, and awareness.
The solstice reminds us that light reveals what has always been there. For me, that’s the invitation of yoga too.
Rather than celebrating a designated yoga holiday, I’m spending today in gratitude for the teachers, traditions, and daily practices that continue to shape who I am.
If you’re curious about my perspective on International Yoga Day, I wrote more about it on my blog www.greenlotusnj.com
