Today was a much different day at the track.

Today we celebrated the life of Walter “Walt” Drakeford at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

Racing family truly is family. Today we had the honor of standing beside Walt’s family as Josh took him for his final ride down our home track. There weren’t many dry eyes around.

Brian and Walt spent years racing Ultra Street together. They battled hard on the track, but off the track they could spend hours brainstorming, talking racing, and pushing each other to keep the class alive. As Walt’s wife said today, “Brian and Walt kept Ultra Street alive… and Walt was Ultra Street til he died.”

That statement couldn’t be more true.
Walt’s passion for racing, his dedication to the class, and the friendships he built along the way left a mark that will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Walt. Your racing family will carry your memory down the track every pass we make. 🏁

Making the best of our weekend 😅

We should be in Kentucky chasing a throne, but instead we’re in Tennessee turning wrenches and getting dirty. Today…the motor and tr**ny are coming OUT.

The motor is headed back to Florida for a visit to Daryl Hameetman at HRE - Hameetman Racing Engines, and the tr**ny is making a trip to Indy for a little refresh at RPM Transmissions.

This is officially Part 1 of our girl’s “Mommy Makeover” 😜🤣

Huge shoutout to Kelly Shotwell with Betty White Racing for helping get her back to Florida. We appreciate you more than you know!

As for me… I’ve traded in my scrubs for camo and Keep Racing apparel this weekend 😜 The nails are somehow still surviving, and thankfully Brian hasn’t caused any further bodily harm (ripped the nail off last trip)…YET😂 I’m sure my nail girl appreciates that.

Sometimes racing means trophies. Sometimes it means busted knuckles, late nights, and doing what it takes to come back stronger.

And just like that… it’s GO TIME!!!

Today, the Keep Racing Team is trading race fuel for wedding bells as we celebrate a very special day…Brian’s beautiful daughter Samantha marrying her best friend Brandon 🤍
From the track to this unforgettable moment, it’s all about love, family, and making memories that last a lifetime. We are beyond excited to be here, dressed up (yes… even us 😄), and ready to watch these two say “I do.”

Samantha, you are absolutely stunning, and Brandon, you’re one lucky man! We couldn’t be happier for you both as you start this incredible new chapter together.

Keep Racing Team is rolling out of Bama and headed to Tennessee!

We’re dropping the rig, enjoying a day at our second home on the lake (hey… we’ll take it), then turning right around and heading back to Florida. 🍊🍊🍊

The miles may be long, but this racing life is always worth it. Grateful for the road trips, the memories, and the places this journey takes us.
Tennessee for a quick reset… then it’s back to work.

Q2 did not go as planned…

Unfortunately, due to mechanical issues, Brian made the tough but necessary decision not to put our backup engine in the car and to withdraw from the race. While it’s never the outcome we want, sometimes the smartest call is to step back, regroup, and focus on the bigger picture.

The car is headed to Kentucky for a complete wiring refresh and installation of a new Haltech ECU. We’re hopeful this will eliminate that pesky little gremlin that’s been reaking havoc once and for all and get us back where we belong.
