At the end of August, the troop traveled to Glendale Colorado for the prestigious Rugbytown tournament. Known for being a premier competitive and well run tournament, it showcases some of the best teams in the world. Last year the troop had a tough outing going winless. This year was an improvement, but still short of the goal. Results weren’t ideal, but Herby had himself a tour. Fighting hard and making plays on all 3 days, he displayed the gorilla heart with excellence. Well done herby!

Rugbytown 2026 Roster: Corey Jones

Captaining the troop this weekend is Mr. 7s himself. Spending much of this year as a coach for our youth teams, his leadership has been on the forefront. Corey had proven many times why he’s a valuable player, and we are excited to have him back.

These young apes traveled to Utah and completed well throughout this high caliber tournament. With players who don’t train together, the troop had to lean on our unique style of play. Ethan was a natural playing that brand of 7s. Fueled by his passion, his work rate and energy led the team. We have to give a special shoutout to the hosts , and the parents of these players, it was a pleasure to work with y’all.

Player of the tourney: Elijah Capiro

The troop traveled to Shreveport Louisiana for the TOLA Championship. Although we were unable to catch the top seeded quins in the points race, there were some positives to take away. Elijah’s performance being one of them. Stout defense, needed try’s, and timely turnovers, Elijah was lights out all tourney.
This concludes our u23 & Open men’s sides 7s season. Best wishes to our men’s players returning to their home clubs, and our collegiate players entering their new semesters. Thank you to the sponsors, families, and supporters for a fantastic summer. None of this would be possible without yall.

The troop had a blast playing some of the top teams around. After 2 days of high level play, the team showed great progress with each match . The coaches had a hard time picking one standout player so they chose two. These two apes really had an impact during the matches that led to a positive record. With Impressive try’s, solid defense, and a work rate that made a difference. Nilo and Dom are worthy of the recognition.
