Wellβ¦that's a wrap. β€οΈπ½
Last night was my final night running GO Co****le.
Five years. It's honestly hard to believe.
What started with around 20-something players grew into a community of more than 100. Different venues, thousands of bags thrown, championships, ridiculous theme nights, plenty of laughsβ¦and probably a few questionable scorekeeping decisions. π
But looking through these pictures, what I'm most proud of isn't how big the leagues became.
It's the people.
Strangers became friends. Beginners became great players. Teammates became family. Somewhere along the way, GO Co****le became about a whole lot more than throwing bags at a board.
To everyone who played, volunteered, helped set up or tear down, brought friends, supported our venues, sponsored us, or simply showed up every weekβ¦
Thank you.
You made these five years something I'll never forget.
I'm going to miss those packed Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the competition, the laughs and the sound of bags hitting boards everywhere.
But while my chapter running GO Co****le has come to an end, I'm not convinced the GO Co****le story itself is finished.
So maybe don't put those bags in storage just yet. π
As for me, I'm turning the page too.
I've been dreaming, planning and working toward something for quite a while now. Maybe the next chapter even brings a new home for some of the friendships that started right here.
For now, I just want to say thank you for five incredible years.
Hundreds of players.
Thousands of games.
Countless friendships.
One hell of a ride.
This chapter ends hereβ¦
But I have a funny feeling we're going to recognize a few characters in the next one. π
