We asked a graduating participant once how they felt about the layout of our programming and whether we should do more. More days on the water, more training, more…
Their response was enlightening. They said that in all of the other sports they participated in, once a participant/ athlete got into their teenage years, they had to pursue a competitive track or start to fade out of the organized team scene. Whereas in Wave Train, they were able to participate purely for the joy of the activity and for the camaraderie associated with it.
We had never really thought about it this way, but as soon as it was articulated, we loved it.
