🩷I say this with so much love: if you keep attracting the same kind of guy, keep having the same arguments, keep ending up in the same disappointing place... it might be time to admit you're using the wrong key.

I did this for years. I kept using the same key – the one that said "make yourself smaller so he doesn't leave," or "ignore that gut feeling because you don't want to seem difficult." That key had worked, in its own broken way, in old relationships. But it didn't open the door to the kind of relationship I really wanted. There was no way it could because it wasn't made for that door.

It took me a long time, almost 10 years of dating and being in the wrong relationships, to realize the problem wasn't the men. It was that I kept showing up as the same woman who'd go along with things that didn't feel right, just with a different person.

🗝️New doors need new keys. That means new standards, new boundaries and a new willingness to walk away from something familiar but wrong, instead of staying because it's comfortable. It means moving differently before you even meet him, not just hoping it'll be different next time.
..So here's my question for you: what old key are you still trying to jam into a new lock?

If you're ready to actually forge a new one, that's the work we do inside The Becoming Her Sisterhood. Seven women have already joined, so there are only 8 founding spots left. Comment "I'm in!" if this hit home. The link to check it out is in the comments. 👇

Happy Labor Day! ❤️🤍💙

Just in case you need a reminder - and Labor Day seemed as good a day as any - being busy is not a personality trait, and exhaustion is not a badge of honor.

Yes, work hard, build your career, raise your kids, take care of business and absolutely go after your dreams. They are all important.

But also… sit down. Take the day off, enjoy your people and enjoy your life. (Yes, I'm talking to myself here, too.)

The goal isn't to look back someday and realize you were incredibly productive.
The goal is to have actually lived.

Have a wonderful holiday! ❤️

Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend! 🌟

💗 Do you secretly believe all the good men are already taken, especially after a string of bad dates or disappointing profiles? If you do, you're not alone, but this belief might be doing more damage than you think.

In this week’s video, I break down why ‘all the good ones are taken' is actually a self-fulfilling prophecy and what to do instead.

🌟 Life has a funny way of taking us on unexpected twists and turns, doesn't it? Well, I truly believe that every experience we've had, whether it’s a great one or not, has played a role in making us who we are today.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked if I regretted getting married the first time since I was only 21, or if I regretted dating some of the men I went out with before I met Hugh, whether it was for one date or two years. My answer is always no. Those men weren't meant to stay in my life, but I learned something from every one of them, whether it was something I was looking for or not or something I needed to learn about myself.

I get a version of this question about more recent decisions, too, like leaving a job I was at for 10 years and moving to Florida, especially since it took way longer to find a job than I thought it would. Those months, as hard as they were, taught me things about patience, tenacity and trust in myself that I couldn't have learned any other way. It’s all worth it since I get to see my parents more often.

It's easy to get caught up wishing things had gone differently, or to realize we're still carrying around old struggles or relationships around with us. But the truth is, by embracing every part of our journey, the highs and the lows, we're giving ourselves the gift of self-love and acceptance.

We can't change the past, but we can definitely choose to look at what it taught us.

🩷 So, let's make a deal: let's release the resentment toward the experiences that shaped us. Let's celebrate our growth, our resilience and the wisdom we learned along the way instead. Comment "I'm in!" if you're with me.

Here's to loving who we've become and looking forward to the chapters still ahead. It's time to feel proud, embrace our uniqueness and shine, knowing every step brought us closer to loving who we are.

Seven women have already joined The Becoming Her Sisterhood, so there are only 8 founding spots left. If you're ready to do this kind of work with women who get it, now's the time to join us. The link to check it out is in the comments. ⬇️
