🩷I say this with so much love: if you keep attracting the same kind of guy, keep having the same arguments, keep ending up in the same disappointing place... it might be time to admit you're using the wrong key.
I did this for years. I kept using the same key – the one that said "make yourself smaller so he doesn't leave," or "ignore that gut feeling because you don't want to seem difficult." That key had worked, in its own broken way, in old relationships. But it didn't open the door to the kind of relationship I really wanted. There was no way it could because it wasn't made for that door.
It took me a long time, almost 10 years of dating and being in the wrong relationships, to realize the problem wasn't the men. It was that I kept showing up as the same woman who'd go along with things that didn't feel right, just with a different person.
🗝️New doors need new keys. That means new standards, new boundaries and a new willingness to walk away from something familiar but wrong, instead of staying because it's comfortable. It means moving differently before you even meet him, not just hoping it'll be different next time.
..So here's my question for you: what old key are you still trying to jam into a new lock?
If you're ready to actually forge a new one, that's the work we do inside The Becoming Her Sisterhood. Seven women have already joined, so there are only 8 founding spots left. Comment "I'm in!" if this hit home. The link to check it out is in the comments. 👇
