Seriously. Before you buy that gorgeous bag of “Blueberry Bliss,” “Vanilla Dream,” or “Tropical Whatever”… flip it over.

Because the name on the front tells you what the tea is supposed to taste like.

The ingredient list tells you how they made it taste that way. 👀

You might be surprised how often you see:

“Natural flavors”
“Artificial flavors”
“Flavoring”
“Natural and artificial flavors”

And sometimes… not a whole lot of the ingredient you thought you were buying.

At Monster Herbal Blends, we do things differently.

If we want blueberry flavor, we reach for blueberries. 🫐
If we want citrus, we use actual citrus. 🍋🍊
If we want warmth, we reach for cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves and other spices.
If we want chocolatey richness, we play with ingredients like cacao and roasted carob. 🍫
If we want floral notes, there are actual flowers for that. 🌸

And underneath all of that, we deliberately choose teas and botanicals that bring their own flavor and personality to the blend, from bold Assam and earthy pu-erh to naturally sweet honeybush and delicate white teas.

That’s the fun part of blending.

We don’t need an ingredient called “flavor” to do the heavy lifting.

So whether you’re buying from us or someone else, do yourself a favor:

So… where DOES the flavor come from? 👀

Right. Freaking. Here. 🌹🍫🫖

When we say NO ADDED FLAVORS, we mean it.

Chocolate Rose Chai doesn’t taste rich, chocolatey, floral, warm and ridiculously decadent because we dumped some mysterious “chocolate flavor” or “chai flavor” into it.

We built that flavor.

And it starts before the herbs, spices and flowers ever hit the bowl.

Even the TEAS themselves are chosen for what they bring to the cup.

🫖 Assam black tea brings that bold, malty richness and body.

🫖 Pu-erh tea brings deep, earthy complexity and an almost aged richness that gives the blend some serious backbone.

THEN we build from there.

🍫 Cacao nibs for real chocolate depth
🤎 Roasted carob for naturally sweet, brownie-like richness
🌹 Rose petals for that unmistakable floral note

🫖 WE DON’T ADD “FLAVOR.” WE BUILD IT.

Here’s something we’re ridiculously proud of at Monster Herbal Blends:

We don’t use added natural flavors. We don’t use artificial flavors. We don’t use “flavor extracts” to make our teas taste like something they aren’t.

And if you’ve ever looked at the ingredient list on a flavored tea, you know just how uncommon that can be.

So how the heck do we make a tea taste like carrot cake, chocolate orange, vanilla mint, fruit punch, c***r, or any of the other slightly unhinged things we decide tea should taste like? 😂

We formulate the flavor from the ingredients themselves.

Tea. Herbs. Spices. Fruits. Flowers. Roots. And yes, sometimes even vegetables.

That means creating a new Monster blend can involve a LOT of experimenting. We brew it. Taste it. Change the ratios. Brew it again. Add more of one ingredient. Pull back another. Change the tea base. Taste it again. Occasionally stare accusingly at a cup because it refuses to cooperate. 👹☕

We keep working until those real ingredients create the flavor we were chasing.

Could added flavoring make that process easier? Absolutely.

But easy isn’t why we started Monster Herbal Blends.

We wanted to make teas that taste genuinely GOOD without relying on an ingredient simply called “flavor.”

So when you taste apple, there’s apple in there. 🍎
When you taste ginger, there’s ginger.
When you taste cinnamon, vanilla, citrus, berries, herbs or spices, those ingredients are actually doing the work.

No flavor shortcut hiding at the end of the ingredient list.

Meet Graveyard Shift, our Monster take on English Breakfast Tea and part of our AWAKENED! collection. 👹

So… how exactly did we AWAKEN a classic English Breakfast?

We flipped the whole damn thing around. 😂

Traditional English Breakfast blends are built around black tea. For Graveyard Shift, we made green tea the star, combining Ceylon Green Tea, Gunpowder Green Tea, and Sencha Green Tea, then adding just enough Keemun Black Tea to bring in that rich, familiar breakfast-tea depth.

The result is a cup that’s bold, smooth, complex, and satisfying, but definitely NOT your average English Breakfast.

It’s our slightly unhinged way of taking a classic, shaking it awake, and making it unmistakably Monster. 👹☕

🌿 WHAT THE HECK IS HONEYBUSH?

If you’ve looked at the ingredients in some of our blends and thought, “I have absolutely no idea what that is…” 😂

Good.

Because there’s a reason we use herbs you don’t see in every tea on the shelf.

Honeybush is one of them.

Native to South Africa, honeybush is a naturally caffeine-free plant with a smooth, slightly sweet, honey-like flavor. 🍯🌿 And THAT is exactly why we love working with it.

When we create a blend, we don’t want to build a pile of herbs and then rely on “added flavors” to make it taste like something interesting.

We’d rather let the plants do the work.

Honeybush can add natural sweetness, warmth and depth. Other lesser-known herbs, flowers, roots, fruits and spices bring their own completely different flavors to the cup.

Sometimes that means our ingredient lists contain things you’ve never heard of.

That’s kind of the point. 💚

We seek out ingredients not just for what they traditionally bring to an herbal blend, but for how they actually taste and how those flavors work together.

Because herbal tea does NOT have to taste like somebody steeped the backyard. 😂

So when you see something unfamiliar on a Monster Herbal Blends label, don’t be scared of it.

It might just be the little weirdo making the whole cup amazing. 🫖✨
