Boyne City’s Season Ends to Evart in Quarterfinals

Boyne City’s season came to an end this evening in the quarterfinals at Ferris State University with a 6-2 loss to a strong Evart roster. Boyne had runners on base and in scoring position several times but wasn’t able to capitalize. It just wasn’t their night.

Sidney Bush took the loss on the mound, allowing 10 hits with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Sidney Bush also led the offense going 3 for 4 with 3 singles and 1 RBI. Bella Jewett doubled and scored a run. Addy Stanek doubled and Lily Payton had a sacrifice bunt with 1 RBI.

Boyne City’s season may have ended, but that doesn’t diminish the season they had. Boyne City finished with a record of 29-11, a Boyne City Invitational Championship, a Northern Shores Conference Championship, a District 67 Championship, and Boyne City Softball’s first-ever Regional Championship and trip to the Quarterfinals. They hit a school record 35 homeruns as a team; a total that was contributed to by 6 different players. This team was special. They worked and played for each other, and when it came down to those big moments, they definitely brought the hype. Boyne City Softball’s future is looking bright.

What a season.

Our historic run came to an end tonight with a 6-2 loss to Evart in the MHSAA State Quarterfinals, but this team has so much to be proud of.

The 2026 Ramblers captured the first Regional Championship in program history, earned a trip to the State Quarterfinals, and represented Boyne City with incredible toughness, resilience, and class every step of the way.

To our seniors, thank you for the foundation you helped build. To our coaches, thank you for your leadership and commitment. And to every player, thank you for the memories, the hard work, and for inspiring the next generation of Ramblers.

This season will be remembered!

Thank you for making Boyne City proud.

The journey continues for our Regional Champion Ramblers!

For the first time in program history, Boyne City Softball is competing in the MHSAA State Quarterfinals as they take on Evart tonight at 6:00 PM at Ferris State University.

A win tonight sends the Ramblers to the MHSAA State Semifinals at Secchia Stadium on the campus of Michigan State University.

Regional Champions for the first time in Boyne City History!🙌❤️💙🥎

Boyne City softball put together a pair of wins to win their first ever Regional Championship on Saturday in Cheboygan.

Sidney Bush took the win from the mound in the semifinal with a 14-0 run rule victory in 5 innings over Calumet. Bush allowed 3 hits with 9 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Riley Thiel led the offense going 3 for 3 with 2 singles and a double with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Sidney Bush also went 3 for 3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs score. Sadie Bush had 2 singles with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Lily Payton had a single and 2 walks leading to 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Lucy Joyce had a single with 2 HBPs with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Natalie Grobaski had a single and a walk with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Addy Stanek had a double with 2 RBIs.

Sidney Bush took the mound again in regional final, battling the very solid bats from Gladstone. Bush allowed 8 hits and 4 runs (3 earned) over 7 innings. She had 9 strikeouts and 2 walks in the history making 5-4 win over Gladstone.

Sadie Bush lead the offense in the final with a single and a double, 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Bella Jewett came in clutch with a single and 2 walks leading to 2 runs scored. Lily Payton had 2 singles with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Addy Stanek had a double with 1 run scored. Riley Thiel had a single with 2 RBIs.

This team is special. They work hard to support each other and have each other’s backs. They understand that mistakes are going to be made and that not everyone is going to have there best outing every single game. “One team, one family,” “one team, one dream,” and “I’ve got you,” are just a few of the themes this team has carried throughout the season. Those themes and a few superstitions will follow them as they take on Evart in the quarterfinal matchup at Ferris State University on Tuesday at 6pm.
