One last thank you. On behalf of Boyertown Area Youth Baseball, Ltd. Board of Directors, we thank EVERYONE who has a part in our program! Each and every one of you plays a crucial role here- from the players to the umpires, ball crew to kitchen staff, our loyal fans, and so many more. Thank you for helping preserve our history, and plan for our future providing quality baseball in beautiful Bear Stadium to local athletes. Boyertown Legion Baseball always has been and always will be, a community effort. 💙⚾️❤️

Each year we like to do a spotlight to our “seniors”, those who have just finished their final year of Legion eligibility. This year we have only two!

Our second and final “senior” is # 29 Chase Waibel. BASH class of 2026, Chase pitched and played 1st base for the Bears, spending most of his career pitching. In his three years with the Bears, in 106 1/3 innings of work, he had 61 strikeouts and allowed only 38 walks, ending with a career ERA 3.95 and a WHIP of 1.52. He made the most of his time in the batters box this year with a .304 batting average. In 23 at bats, he had 7 hits, 3 walks and 4 RBI, also scoring 4 runs for the Bears.

Chase’s next plans are to attend Montgomery County Community College, where he will play baseball and work toward a degree and career in business.

His favorite memory with the Bears is helping the team come back from an 8-1 deficit in game 1 of the Regional tournament, where he was later honored with Player of the Game.

A “fun fact” about Chase is that he played two seasons of lacrosse at 9U and 10U while also continuing to play fall baseball.

A message from his parents: We are so proud of the young man you’ve become. Thank you for giving us years of unforgettable memories and moments we’ll cherish forever. Keep working hard, stay humble, and enjoy every opportunity ahead. We’ll always be your biggest fans.

Each year we like to do a spotlight to our “seniors”, those who have just finished their final year of Legion eligibility. This year we have only two!

Our first “Senior” is # 28 Gavin Trainer. Another BASH 2026 grad, this was Gavin’s first and last year with the Legion Bears and played Centerfield. Gavin batted third for most of the season, boasting a remarkable .433 batting average, leading the team with 29 hits, including 3 doubles, 6 triples, a home run, and 21 RBI, He had no problem getting around the bases with 21 stolen bases and 27 runs scored. In 83 plate appearances, Gavin struck out only 6 times, with 6 walks and 6 HBP.

In the fall he heads to West Chester Univeristy, where he will be majoring in economics, and playing baseball for “as long as he can”

His favorite memory with the Bears was going out to eat with the team after a win.

A “fun fact” about Gavin is that he likes to play guitar in his spare time.

A note from his parents: “Watching your journey from T-ball through Legion baseball has been one of the greatest joys of being your parents. We’re proud of the player you’ve become, but even more proud of the young man you are. We love you and can’t wait to watch you write the next chapter in your story”

On behalf of Maddi and Nick, who coordinate Game Day Operations, and the rest of our Game Day Staff, a HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers. We could not do what we do without the dedicated support of parents and community.

- Thank you to our parents who help work our concession stand - who are willing to miss parts of the game to improve fan experience and raise money for this program. A special thanks to those who go the extra mile and donate time & food to make sure the concession stand is up and running! Every players family helped out this year and it is greatly appreciated. 🍔
- Thank you to our amazing field crew- Nick, Ed, Kevin, Bubba, Jay, Dan, Eric, Matt, Steve, and Bud for keeping Bear Stadium in tip-top shape, never letting the weather get in their way, and keeping our facility as one of the best in the biz! And thank you to High School Coach Todd Moyer for helping out during the day and sharing his experience with our crew. 🏟️
- Thank you to our pressbox staff: announcers Rob & Mark, and scoreboard operator Nick for announcing our games and keeping everyone informed, excited, and entertained between innings. We also thank Bob Letter for doing Game Changer for the fans at home 🎙️
- Thank you to Jen & Syd for keeping our souvenir stand staffed for home games 🧢
- Thank you to our all-state ball crew! We love having you with us and are grateful for all of the foul balls you hunt down at Bear Stadium ⚾️
- Thank you to community members for stepping up in the post-season to cover ALL boyertown games- concessions, admission, and souvenirs so that Bears families didn’t have to miss a moment. 🤝🏼
