🪢 Learning something NEW at VCCF!

A huge THANK YOU to Coach Jacob for spending the morning with us and leading an awesome Rope Flow Clinic!

We love CrossFit, but we also love getting outside our comfort zone, learning new skills, and finding different ways to move our bodies. Rope Flow challenged our coordination, rhythm, mobility, and our brains a little too. 😅

Thank you, Coach Jacob, for sharing your knowledge, being patient with us, and making the morning so much fun!

We’re excited to keep practicing what we learned—and we have a feeling you’ll be seeing a few more ropes flying around Vette City! 💪🪢

Always learning. Always moving. Always getting better. ❤️💙

Some still frames from today’s WOD,

🔥 SMITTY — A Vette City CrossFit Labor Day Tradition 🔥

Every Labor Day, we come together for a workout that means a little more than just reps, sweat, and a good time with our VCCF crew.

Smitty is named after Eric Smith — a father, husband, and longtime member of the Vette City CrossFit family.

Many years ago, Eric was injured in a skiing accident that left him paralyzed. Smitty originally began as a way for our community to rally around Eric and the Smith family and help raise money during an incredibly difficult season.

But the workout — and what it represents — stuck. ❤️

So every Labor Day, we keep showing up for Smitty.

We sweat. We laugh. We suffer together a little. 😅 And we’re reminded that we don’t always get to choose the curveballs life throws our way — but we can choose to keep moving forward.

Today wasn’t about scores or who finished first. It was about community, resilience, gratitude, and doing hard things alongside good people.

Another Smitty in the books. 🇺🇸🔥

Here’s to Eric, the Smith family, and the reminder to keep moving forward. 💪

🚨 NEW MEMBER ALERT: JOHN NGUYEN! 🚨

John has officially been part of the VCCF crew for about a month now, and he’s already making himself right at home!

It all started with an invite from a coworker—and John didn’t come alone. He jumped in alongside a couple other new friends, which is exactly how we love to see people find CrossFit. 🙌

Since then, John has been consistently showing up, putting in the work, and finding his footing FAST. He even jumped right into the fun and joined us for the Mud Run! 🏃‍♂️💦

John, we’re so glad that invitation brought you through our doors. We love having you as part of the VCCF community and can’t wait to see where you go from here!

Everyone give John a big VCCF welcome! 👏🔥

And consider this your reminder: invite the coworker. Invite the friend. You never know who might end up loving this place as much as you do. ❤️💙

🌟 COACH SPOTLIGHT: KARRIE ROBBINS 🌟

If there’s something happening at VCCF, there’s a pretty good chance Coach Karrie is either there… or she’s the one convincing everyone else to come. 😂❤️

Karrie has a gift for bringing people together—whether it’s for a workout, dinner, an event, or something fun completely outside the gym. She genuinely loves people, and it shows in the way she coaches. She’s patient, kind, encouraging, and always ready to help someone feel like they belong.

Karrie started CrossFit in 2017, earned her L1 in 2021, and didn’t stop there—adding her L2, Nutrition 1, and Advanced Judges Course to the résumé. 💪

Outside the gym, her favorite titles are Momma and Mamaw. ❤️ She and Chris have been married 31 years, have three daughters and two granddaughters—and if you know Karrie, you know family is EVERYTHING.

Drop some love for Coach Karrie below! And for fun…who do you think made the first move? Chris 💙 or Karrie🩷 🤔 wod kentuckycrossfit community gym fitness heath growthmindset movetheneedle progress

This weekend is for the person who has been thinking about trying CrossFit… but keeps talking themselves out of it.

Maybe you’ve thought:

“I need to get in shape first.”
“I don’t know how to do any of those movements.”
“Everyone there is probably way fitter than me.”
“I’m going to look completely lost.”
“I’m honestly just intimidated.”

Strength for Life Weekend was created specifically for YOU.

You don’t need to be strong. You don’t need to know how to lift a barbell. You don’t need to understand CrossFit terminology. And you definitely don’t need to “get in shape” before you walk through our doors.

For two days, we’re slowing everything down and teaching you the things that can feel intimidating in a regular class: the movements, how to scale workouts, gym terminology, nutrition basics, what a class actually looks like, and how to choose options that work for your current fitness level.

No pressure to keep up. No expectation that you already know what you’re doing. No experience required.

📅 September 26–27
💰 $200
👕 T-shirt + journal included
🎁 PLUS one full month of VCCF membership FREE
🥗 Saturday lunch included

Our goal isn’t to turn you into a CrossFit athlete in one weekend.

It’s to help you walk away thinking, “Okay… I CAN do this.”

If fear or intimidation has been the thing keeping you from trying CrossFit, consider this your invitation.

🔥September is Here🔥

Mark these dates and get ready!

Tip for this busy fall season: Set your workouts as appointment blocks in your calendar. They ARE important for many reasons. Don’t let other things take priorities over your time for healthy habits. It’ll pay off in the long run mentally and physically.
