Program Spotlight: Summer Adventure Lab 🦁

This week our adventurers took a trip through the jungle! From exploring different animals and creating their own jungle masterpieces to practicing sorting skills, every activity was packed with learning through play. 🌎✨

Hands-on activities like these help build creativity, fine motor skills, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork all while making summer fun unforgettable. 💚

Learning + movement + imagination = the perfect summer adventure 🌴☀️

POV: You’re about to meet a new client and your brain is running through every possible scenario 😂🤍

Will we become besties in 5 minutes or will I earn my cardio for the day? Either way, we show up ready to build trust, have fun, and meet every kiddo where they’re at.

📚 Moments That Matter 📚

Taking turns reading isn’t just story time fun. It helps build communication skills, confidence, patience, listening, and peer interaction skills too! Watching our kiddos cheer each other on, wait for their turn, and proudly read their parts is what these moments are all about.

Every page turned is another step in learning and growing together. 🌟

POV: transitioning to a non-preferred activity

In ABA, transitions can be tough, especially when moving from something fun to something less preferred. That uncertainty can lead to resistance, avoidance, or big emotions.

That’s why we don’t actually keep it a surprise 👀
We use supports like visual schedules, countdowns, and clear expectations to help our learners feel prepared and successful.

Because when kids know what’s coming, they’re more likely to go with confidence (even if it’s not their favorite task 💙).

Program Spotlight: Learning Through Play! 🐷🐔

From identifying farm animals to building problem-solving skills with puzzles, our learners are hard at work in ways that feel like fun! You’ll also see lots of movement (yes, even spinning toys) as we support sensory needs while keeping engagement high.

We’re especially proud of the communication happening whether it’s vocal language or using speech devices, every child is finding their voice and being heard. 💬

In ABA, these moments aren’t just play. They are opportunities to build independence, communication, and confidence every single day.

Crunch after pulling an all-nighter… 😴

Even Crunch needs a reminder that sleep matters! In ABA, things like attention, responding, and learning are all tied to basic needs. When kiddos (or Crunch 😅) don’t get enough rest, you might see slower responses, low engagement, or more challenging behaviors.

Moral of the story: well-rested brains learn best 💤💙

Moments That Matter

What looks like a simple dance to Baby Shark is actually full of meaningful learning! 🦈✨

Through music and movement, our learners practice imitation, following directions, motor coordination, and social engagement. Dancing also creates natural opportunities for communication whether it’s requesting the song again, labeling actions, or joining in with others.

In ABA, we use what motivates each child to build important skills… and sometimes, that looks like a dance party! 🕺

POV: you brace yourself when a kid comes sprinting at you… 😳 and then it turns out they just wanted a hug

In ABA, behavior is communication. What might look “scary” at first can actually be a learner expressing excitement, seeking connection, or asking for attention in the only way they know how.

Our job is to look past the behavior and teach safer, more appropriate ways to communicate those same needs like asking for a hug, using words, or tapping for attention instead of running towards people at full speed. 😅
