Curling season is almost here! Try curling at the Black Swamp Curling Center. Our first 2026-27 Learn-to-Curl is scheduled for Friday, September 18 at 7pm. There is a link to register in the comments.

A two hour $40* Learn-to-Curl includes some basic instruction and practice followed by playing a real game. You can come as an individual or as a group. Also, be sure to bring clean rubber soled athletic shoes for use on the ice.

What to expect at a Learn-to-Curl

Brief overview of how to play
Learn to deliver a rock
Learn how to sweep
Break into teams and play (groups and families will be kept together)
After your class is over The 9th End bar will be open and we invite you to stay for a drink.

Join us for Early Bird 2026: The Return of the Early Bird at the Black Swamp Curling Center, September 25-27, 2026!

This is an open format bonspiel with a 4-game guarantee. The cost is $400/team. Meals on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday morning are included.

Events at the club include the great worm hunt, birding contests, and great curling!

This is a 16 team bonspiel with 8 events! Each is named for a bird.

We're going international!!

Members of our club that are behind all the other wonderful bonspiels our club offers have decided to have a bonspiel in New Zealand!!!

Also, one small correction to an earlier post: We incorrectly stated that the chances of seeing an Arctic Tern in Northwest Ohio was "zero." In fact, there was a confirmed sighting of an Arctic Tern in Maumee Bay State Park in August 2010 - so good luck birders!
