What a beautiful start to our 1913 Elevated Dining Series! 🍷

This past weekend, members enjoyed the first weekend of Bella Italia - an unforgettable evening of great company, incredible wine selections, and four expertly crafted courses inspired by the flavors of Italy.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first destination on this culinary journey. Reservations are required and still available Thursday-Saturday through September 6th, and we’d love to have you at the table!

Congratulations to John Kernohan on being our 2026 Senior Club Champion, shooting 150 (+6) over 36-holes, and then prevailing in a 1-hole playoff over Larry Stivers.

It was a very closely contested championship, as four players finished within 1-shot of the lead, but ultimately, John played his steady game down the stretch to close the gap and force the extra hole. In the playoff, it was a battle of up-and-downs, as John left it just short of the green while Larry faced a tricky shot from just over the back of the green. John cozied his attempt to about 2 feet and cleaned up his par. Larry did well to knock it to 12 feet, but his par attempt just slid by. This is John’s 11th Senior Club Championship title, which is reserved for members aged 55 and over.

Larry Stivers claimed the Net Division honors, with a 139 (-6) total over the 36-hole championship. Great playing, Larry!

At Bowling Green Country Club, we believe some of life’s greatest gifts aren’t trophies or scorecards - they’re the memories we create with the people we love. We are proud to recognize members whose actions reflect the values that make our club so special.

Today, we would like to recognize Adam Britt for an incredibly selfless and heartfelt act.

When Adam accepted the invitation to the exclusive John Daly Invitational benefiting the ALS Foundation, he immediately knew exactly who he wanted to share it with - his father, Andy. Rather than simply enjoying this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity himself, Adam chose to make one of his dad’s lifelong dreams come true by experiencing it together.

Yesterday, Adam and Andy teed it up at the legendary Old Hickory Country Club, one of Nashville’s most iconic and beloved golf courses. Together, they not only met John Daly, but had the unforgettable opportunity to play a hole with the man himself - creating memories that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

As a son, there are few gifts greater than giving your father an experience he’ll never forget. At BGCC, we believe acts of generosity, family, and putting others first deserve to be celebrated, because they represent the very best of who we are as a club.

Congratulations to our 2026 HOGS HEAD Champions, Curtis Baer & Jordan Baer!! 🏆

It was an exciting finish to the Shootout, as the Baer’s were able to prevail to claim their second Hogs Head title!

Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported this year’s Member-Member. This tournament is one of BGCC’s most cherished traditions, and it’s the incredible members, sponsors, vendors, and staff who make it such a special event year after year.

All of us at Bowling Green Country Club are deeply saddened by the passing of longtime Member and former Club Champion, Betty Jo Beard. Betty Jo was loved and respected by members and staff alike and will be missed beyond measure.

Whether she was playing her weekly bridge game, sharing chocolate with the staff, or simply brightening someone's day with her kindness and smile, Betty Jo made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was truly one of a kind, and we are all better for having known her.

Betty Jo Beard, 95, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. She was born on March 1, 1931 in Harrodsburg, KY to the late Roy E. and Nell Douglas Gaddie. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; an avid golfer, a bridge player, and a Purple. Betty Jo Beard was all of these things, and more. How do you begin to sum up a life so full? Or, to borrow a phrase used to describe another steadfast and strong-willed woman: "How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?"

Betty Jo taught us how important it is to show up and show out for the people you love -- and to do so with joy in your heart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, yes, but she was more than that. Like the clouds, you can't quite pin her down, and nor would you want to. She is a feeling, a spirit, a force. That's her legacy. Her story lives on so long as we do all we can with what we've been given.

The family will accept visitors on Monday, July 27th at The Presbyterian Church from 2-7PM and on Tuesday, July 28th 9-10:30AM with a service at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

We were thrilled to host our members, as well as welcome members from Indian Hills and Olde Stone for the 3rd and final stop of the Ladies Loop last night! ⛳️

Thank you to all of the wonderful ladies who joined us. It was a fantastic night of golf, friendship, and fun, and we loved hosting everyone at BGCC for the finale!
