I have no idea where this myth came from that Black Americans aren’t active “outside”.
At the risk of making this about our ancestry and our history, I’ll just leave it with, outside is in our DNA.
We walk, we run, we hike, we double-dutch and hopscotch, we get on boats, we horseback ride, we pickleball, we tennis, we golf, we skate, we garden, we camp and we hunt.
We. Are. Outside.
If you’ve been meaning to get outside but haven’t made it happen, here’s your nudge.
Here are three things to start with:
Do something you enjoy. Follow your interest.
*Tie it to a fitness goal.
*Start with a plan that aligns with your summer.
Reminder: Carry your water. Sunscreen. Choose the time of day that works for your schedule. Don’t forget the bug spray.
If you need help building that plan, comment or chat with me, and I’ll send you a link to a complimentary session. Together, we’ll create a plan that gets you through the summer, travels with you, and gets you outside.
Be well
