What started as a vision became a mission. What started with basketball became something much bigger. For 7 years, I.P.L. Athletes has been committed to developing athletes ON and OFF the court.

The workouts matter. The wins matter. The scholarships matter. But the person you become along the way matters even more.

To every athlete who trained with us…
Every parent who trusted us…
Every coach who supported us…
Every organization that partnered with us…
And everyone who believed in the vision…

History. Legacy. Greatness.

Six years ago, I.P.L. Athletes was founded on three simple words: Impact. Promises. Legacy.

Today, we celebrate one of the greatest examples of what those words truly mean.

Congratulations to Mr. Cameron Hayes on becoming the youngest athlete in Bowie State history to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Over the years, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the countless early mornings, difficult conversations, setbacks, adjustments, victories, and sacrifices that shaped him into the man he is today. What many people see as an overnight success is actually the result of years of discipline, consistency, resilience, and unwavering faith.

This honor is bigger than statistics, awards, or accomplishments.

It is a testament to what happens when talent meets character, when preparation meets opportunity, and when an athlete refuses to compromise his standards.

Cam, thank you for setting the standard.

Think about that for a moment.

Out of every athlete who has ever worn the black and gold, competed, sacrificed, and represented Bowie State University, Cam’s body of work, character, and legacy have earned him a place among the all-time greats at an age no one before him had accomplished.

For I.P.L. Athletes, this moment carries even greater significance.

Cameron was the very first athlete in the history of our organization.

Before there were dozens of athletes. Before there were partnerships, camps, clinics, and opportunities. Before the growth, recognition, and success, there was Cam.

He believed in the vision.

He trusted the process.

He committed to the work.

Thank you for showing the next generation what is possible.

Thank you for proving that legacy is not built in a single season, but it is built day by day, choice by choice, rep by rep.

Your story will forever be woven into the foundation of I.P.L. Athletes, and your impact will continue to inspire athletes for years to come.

The first athlete in I.P.L. history.

Now forever a Hall of Famer.

I’m glad i had the opportunity to celebrate Coach Brooks on his retirement ceremony from Bowie State University. He gave me a chance to manage the team, and instilled coaching philosophies and leadership traits in me at a very young age. He knew that I wanted to get into coaching, and he continued to put me in positions to learn and teach, which I still use to this day. It was great to hear about the positive impact you made in your players, coaches and community. As I told you before, I wanted to just say thank you for the opportunity, and I’m forever grateful! Thank you!

I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to participate in the basketball camp!

It is always a blessing to be able to teach the next generation, and to make a positive impact in their lives.

I am grateful for the Lonergan’s for entrusting me to be the “Commissioner” over the campers.
