How the heck did this happen?
Back in the fall on a remote island in Chile (where else?) I woke up in a foggy stupor and a FaceBook post flashed before my eyes: New album by Caroline Cotter.Listened and liked it. it a lot. And still half asleep, messaged Caroline inviting her to put on a show in Cleveland. I’d seen her act years before at Coventry School. Amazing.
Instantaneously .... 1) She responded “Who are you?” 2) We had a brief chat and I heard this “Sure!” I'd love to come back to Cleveland!" 3) I wondered if I was still sleeping. Pinched my arm. Hmm. Yes, awake. 4) I confidently, without a plan, committed to the gig, promising to cover her minimum fee (quite reasonable) and attract a substantial audience. Normal Joe Mendes MO - well, it's always worked before. What the heck? I went for it!
The date's coming up! We need to give her that audience! It will be a personal and intimate experience., 50 to 100 folks, just us and Caroline. You can even talk to her after the show -I'm driving her home. Where else can she go.
