Skagit Valley Pony Club🐴

Our September unmounted meeting consisted of an intro to jumps day! Some highlights:

⭐️The lovely Anne and her pony, Bliss, were a beautiful model for the kids to practice counting strides with a visual of how a line rides. They counted up to 16 strides between two jumps at one point!

⭐️Our 11 participants split into five teams to name various jump key-terms. Some of these included a crossrail, vertical, oxer, and a winged standard. All groups completed their naming game with 100% success!

⭐️We then practiced counting strides by foot. This was great to do after Anne gave us a visual, so the kids had a better idea of what our steps really meant.

⭐️To end the night, they all practiced jumping over our SVPC plank on foot. Eva jumped the highest at about 2’6! The littles played limbo! Shoes and socks came off… legs were scrapped…

This is such a great group of kids! And yes, I say that in nearly every post!

WOWZA!

Temple View “Goose” went to his first show today and when I say rocked it, I mean he ROCKED it 🎉

He participated in W/T English Pleasure, W/T Dressage Suitability, W/T English Eq, and W/T/C English Eq and placed 2nd with Reserve Champion in all four classes.

It’s an absolute honor to be transforming this boy🥹

A smaller team this time, but yet again another blast at the Lake Washington Saddle Club hunter/jumper show!

Rylee and Sonny braved their first show as a pair. Rylee did a fantastic job working through Sonny’s show excitement!

Kaiya and Frito earned Reserve Champion of the x-rail division🎉

Imogen piloted Mr. Fantastic Finn around beautifully with so much positivity! Finn stepped into his first show ring at his ripe older teen age a few weeks ago, and is still working out the kinks of being a “show pony.”

Oakley also made his second show debut with Olivia. He is getting so much more confident by the day and learning to be a good baby horse!

LWSC Show Conquered😍

I am over the moon proud of these riders and their perseverance today! For four of these riders, it was their first show ever. For one of these riders, it was her pony’s first show ever.

What matters most about today is that we all had a blast, made mistakes, and still pushed through. I’ll never stop talking about how great of a group we have!

And a HUGE thanks to the amazing Natalie Sakuma for being our personal paparazzi, chauffeur, and show aunt today📸💕

And a special shoutout to the show parents and grandparents - we quite literally could not have done it without you!

Oftentimes I have people ask me to describe my program. I tell them our biggest goal is just to have fun!

Today I took two separate groups out to Northern State Park. One morning group and then an afternoon group. Both groups had an absolute blast and enjoyed some beautiful weather!

I even enjoyed a splash myself… this is your reminder to check your girth when doing semi-sketchy things like going through scary moving water. Maybe you could save yourself from a dip in the water😬😆

Skagit Valley Pony Club took 🥇 overall at TET Rally June 5th-6th 2026! And special mention to Colette, who also took 1st in her division at her very first PC event.

These girls rock!!🥳🐴

This was also my first time coaching at a PC event… it’s certainly different from our traditional shows. But nonetheless, we had fun!
