Dear FCV Parents and Athletes,

After much thought and consideration, we regret to inform you that FCV will not be offering training programs for the 2018-2019 season. This is a very difficult decision for us. The family culture that we and the coaches worked so hard to foster within the athletes is very much a part of our lives. FCV has been a great experience for us and we have felt so cared for by parents and athletes. Personally, it feels like losing 80+ daughters who I have had the privilege of getting to know.

With 3 boys at home, now who are ready to be involved in programs of their own, I'm finding it's more important than ever that I am a consistent presence at home. The years are short and I don't want to miss these weekends where my kids still want to hang out with me...

Erin and I want to thank you for all the positive and helpful feedback, support, assistance with uniforms, fundraising, communication...and for the incredible effort contributed by each athlete. Thank you for raising such solid young women! It has been a pleasure to be their coach!!

If you need help or want advice with the recruiting process, please reach out anytime! My TIU email is [email protected] and the cell number is still good! I know the future is bright for your daughters and I would love to stay in the loop with their high school seasons.

Sincerely,

Luke & The Ward Family

Legitimately pumped for all our high school athletes getting ready for their school season in a few weeks! Reading & keeping tabs on the Daily Journal articles and so incredibly proud of these ladies who are superstars in my eyes, their teams, and communities! Can’t promise I can make any games considering I might be slightly busy coaching my own team😁...BUT please message, email me your high school schedules!

16 Elite competed in the ASICS Jr. National tournament Monday and Tuesday at Navy Pier. They went 4-1, lost in 3 to the eventual champion in the Gold Bracket (only team to take them to 3 all tourney), and took 5th overall out of 20+ teams!! These young ladies hustled, worked hard, and played well together! Incredibly proud of their fight, their offense, and the ability to finish big plays! This team has a lot to be proud of and a bright future! Thanks for representing FCV so well!

18 Elite competed this weekend at Navy Pier in the ASICS Jr Nationals. These young women competed alright, going 7-1, coming up just short in the semis to the eventual champs, and taking 3rd overall in the 18s division!! Didn’t matter if we were down 14-12 in the third set (this happened twice) we kept believing and fought to win numerous times! Proud of the resiliency, maturity, and effort seen these last 3 days. Even had other parents commenting on “how hard we work.” These ladies have a lot to be proud of!

Congrats to our final Coach of the Week!!

Haley Burmeister

Haley stepped in when we needed her and we were lucky to have her! Thankful for her knowledge and her desire to make these girls better.

A couple players mentioned: “she knows a lot, wants what’s best for us, and constantly encourages us.“

16 Blue and 14 Blue competed in the Diggz Summer Slam this past Saturday. 16 Blue finished competed hard, played some great defense, and best of all-knows how to have fun with it all! Proud of this team and how encouraging they can be to each other! Way to finish ladies!

14 Blue split their matches in pool play and ended up taking 2nd in their pool. They made the playoffs where they won the next 2 matches, including the championship game which was one set to 25 and won it all with a 30-28 score! Our 14 Blue played hard, never gave up, and won it all! Great job ladies and coach!
