Established in 1995 in the town of Sullivan, MO, All That Jazz Dance Studio has been in business longer than any other dance studio in the Sullivan area. In 2024, we rebranded under the name ATJ Diamonds Dance/Cheer/Gymnastics when we relocated to our new location in West Sullivan/Bourbon. Julie Carey – Owner/Teacher/Choreographer/Coach: Julie began dance at the age of 3 and has been dancing ever
since. With 30+ years of experience and working at ATJ Diamonds she has mesmerized us all with her talent and personality. She also has competed on the regional, state and national levels and has danced with many top choreographers at conventions and competitions. Julie has also been known in the Sullivan Community for competing in various beauty pageants and talent shows across the United States. She was the 2002 Meramec Community Fair Queen and placed in the top 10 at the Missouri State Fair. Julie was also the 2003 Crawford County Fair Queen and placed in the top 10 again at the Missouri State Fair and also received the Top Talent Award. Julie continues to stay active in the world of dance and gymnastics by attending various master classes form top choreographers that have worked with many famous people, to stay current on the upcoming trends. Julie is a college graduate and is a licensed Cosmetologist. Julie married her best friend Chris Carey in August of 2009. In February 2011, they welcomed their son Cruz and in June of 2014, they welcomed their daughter Cadence. Sami Blaylock - Teacher/Coach: danced competitively for 10 years doing every dance style possible. Placed multiple times in the top ten and top five. She loves the competitive world of dance. She grew to want to help others learn the passion and love for it. She started teaching and assisting 6 years ago and has loved every minute of it. She loves teaching jazz, contemporary and musical theatre, but especially acro. Since starting teaching she has fallen in love even more with the dance world and can't wait to grow and learn with all of you! Mary Hulsey – Teacher: Mary started at ATJ Diamonds in 1998 when she was 9 years old. She began assistant student teaching when she was 12 and had her own classes by age 15. She grew up in Bourbon & lives in Sullivan with her husband Kyle of 10 years & two daughters Lorelai and Brilee, who also share her love of dance! She graduated from Mizzou in 2012 with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy and works at multiple local skilled nursing facilities. She’s excited to get back to teaching dance after a few years off and can’t wait to celebrate 30 years of ATJ. Nicole Dunn - Coach: began dancing at the age of 4, continuing until the age of 16 and developed a love for athletics through gymnastics and cheerleading during middle and high school. She served as captain of the varsity cheer team at Sullivan High School her senior year, showcasing her leadership and dedication. Today, she is the proud co-owner of The Muscle Bar in Sullivan, MO, where she inspires others on their fitness journeys. As a competitive bodybuilder, she is passionate about health and strength. In her free time, she loves spending quality moments with her husband, Cody and their four kids: Brody, Fletcher, Penelope, and Spencer. Sabrina Childress - Coach: Sabrina started cheerleading when she was in 3rd grade so she has over 10 years experience. Stunting and tumbling were always her favorite. She is a mother of 5 kiddos including twins and has been married to her husband for over 10 years. Her goals for the cheer program is to improve stunts, tumbling, jumps and overall raise teams to a higher competition level and to keep pushing our athletes to be the best they can be while having fun at every practice. Ms. Melissa DeClue – Teacher: Melissa has over 30+ years of dance/gymnastics experience and has been involved with All That Jazz since the very beginning. Melissa has held multiple state/national titles and has earned special awards competing including a college dance scholarship. Melissa has always had a passion for dance and teaching since the age of three and has been dancing with her sister, Julie Carey, since the very beginning. Melissa is the mother to 3 wonderful children, Hayden, Evan, and Garrett. Melissa has also been a registered nurse for the last 18 years in the critical care setting and currently works in the emergency room for the last 175 years. Melissa’s daughter, Hayden, has been attending ATJ for the last 12 years. Melissa is excited for this dance/gymnastics/cheer season to begin and working with all the students. Jana Schmuke – Volunteer/Office Manager/Director: Jana has 30+ years of experience in Finance and Project Management. Jana has been involved with the studio for the past 14 years. She helps to support the owner and teachers in order for them to focus on what they do best. Her daughter, Lily, is one of the OG's from the first competitive dance and cheer teams and retired from the team in 2023.
