God knows how hard I am on these kids. I constantly challenge their physical, mental and ability to push through any obstacles. I know in the moment they probably don’t like it but me pushing them and not allowing them to be complacent is the reason they’re so great. The level of discipline and accountability I hold them too would make most fold. I never have to worry about body language or them shutting down on me. They know it’s coming from a place of love. Nowadays it’s not easy to accept hard coaching when there are so many options but these girls chose to stay and push through the fire. This alone is the reason they are great as a team. Running through last summer and winning a chip did nothing but make us hungry. This weekend is the next step in building something that will be recognized by the whole country not just this state!
To bring it home, I’m very tough on them but the amount of love for this group is unquestioned. Literally probably one of my favorite teams I’ve coached in my 15 years. Hope every coach gets a chance to bond with his/her team, the way I have with this group.
