Desensitization day with Destiny. She’s our new client, A 5yr old Ottb. She’s known to Bite, she kicks, she has charged people, she pulls really bad when lunged or when fed up with things and she’s had one really bad spook while being ridden. She’s had around 6 rides on her up until this point. I’ve been working on ground manners the past three sessions and today we had a desensitization session and she did amazing. She’s had a really bad problem with being sprayed by bottles, up until today she would rear, pull and kick if she got her butt towards you, but today I was able to spray her down completely with no attitude at all. She didn’t spook at anything I threw at her today, she did amazing and with some miles this girl will make an amazing horse for Lisa Dawn Reese. I just wanted to introduce and welcome this handsome boy, DonKay and his owner Vicki Reid. DonKay will be boarding with us for a few months and going through a refresher course for training before moving to his owners property. He's just absolutely beautiful ❤

This is Outlaw, he developed a bucking problem due to back pain. His back was adjusted, teeth done, saddle fit checked and he was cleared, now that the pain has been addressed we know the bucking has become a learned behavior because it continued. This was our first full session together, he was a little skeptical but overall did amazing. We have a long way to go but this is progress.

As soon as he learns to sit down in class and listen to the teacher, he is not immediately expected to write his name.....but we expect immediate learning from a horse. We expect the horse to go from kindergarten to the eighth grade, to high school, to college without enough time, preparation, or consideration for his thoughts and feelings. We often don't even get him into a learning frame-of-mind before we begin to train him. We don't even have him relaxed and confident, where he can sit down in class and just listen. We skip all that preparation because we are so superior, or neglectful, or lazy. Because we haven't prepared ourselves to recognize the horse's feelings." - Ray Hunt
