Amazing accomplishments by Team USA member Joanne Fa’avesi!
Congrats to the Army’s newest Combat Engineer, PVT Joanne Fa'avesi!! She graduated Advanced Individual Training last Friday.
Fitting that it was International Women’s Day this past Week. Only since 2015 have women been able to join the Army as a combat engineer. Out of a graduating class including 130 men, Nana was one of 15 out of 26 women who started the course to graduate.
Not too many people can say they accomplished that. Only one has done that and competed in the Olympics. You’re looking at her!!
PVT Fa’avesi will put her new skills of blowing stuff up and breaching enemy obstacles on hold to push for the 2020 Olympics!!
She will rejoin the Eagles 7s program in Chula Vista as part of the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program- WCAP.
We wish her all the best as she represents our country and the Army!!
