We are excited to introduce our new intern, Kate Perkins!

“My name is Kate Perkins and I am a new intern for Integrated Sports Conditioning. I’m from Woodinville, Washington and recently graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Sport Science and a minor in Strength and Conditioning. I am currently working towards getting my CSCS with the goal of furthering my education with certifications and learning as much as I can to be the best strength and conditioning coach I can be. I have a passion for health and fitness and think it is an important part of overall mental and physical health and should be a part of everyday life. I enjoy working out on my own time and staying active with my family and dog, hiking and exploring the PNW. Another big part of my life includes sports. I grew up in a baseball family and played soccer and softball, and still try to pick up a bat and head out to a field whenever I can. While at WSU, as part of the Strength and Conditioning minor, I worked with the D1 athletes and have experienced a range of sports in the gym (Baseball, Volleyball, Track & Field, Basketball, etc.). I am excited to be a part of Integrated Sports and Elevate Northwest and eager to work one on one with clients, train in a team setting, and get a taste of general population as I believe being a good coach means being experienced and well rounded with as many sports and backgrounds as possible. I look forward to learning from the trainers, athletes, and clients here and am determined to find my own way of coaching and spreading my knowledge to others!”

Doing plyometric exercises such as hoping is not just for youth athletes to improve their performance. They can be applied at any age. For adults jumping is beneficial to your lymphatic system, it also helps with leg strength, reaction time, and balance. Lynn is over the age of 70 and there is no sign of slowing down!

With medication and a constant exercise routine, Jessica is stronger than ever. She is working towards her dream of going to Disney Land and be able to get on and off the rides!!!

With 2022 coming, here’s an idea for meal prep next week to start your new year right! Give this ginger-lime flank steak a go!

Marinade steak, bell peppers, broccoli in Soy sauce, Mirin, Lime, Ginger, Garlic, Sesame oil, Chili oil, Green Onion, S&P

Sauté veggies

Sear steak

Reduce sauce (marinade) in half

Add rice, kimchi, and bean spouts for a killer meal for the week! Give it a go and let us know how you like it!

How good is your stability? Jesse has found that since his balance has improved, he feels stronger, steady on his feet and very empowered. Statistics say that you don’t trip more because you’re older. You lose the ability to catch yourself. Your reaction time slow down and you lose leg strength.
Consistently work can keep your body strong, stable and free from the worry of falling!

We are so proud of the hard work .fodge8 has put in over the past month.

Josephine is a nursing student, a dog lover (her dog Milly joins our workouts!), and an amazing person. Jo also deals with Type 1 Diabetes, which obviously doesn’t slow her down!

Did you know exercise and type 1 diabetes go hand-in-hand? Exercise can make it easier to control your blood sugar levels. Or in other words, exercise can help lower the amount of insulin needed. Which Jo has recently noticed with her own blood sugar levels being more consistent.

Exercise is so cool! Keep working hard Josephine 💪🏼
