Nestled in Laurel Mountain State Park, Laurel Mountain Ski Resort is an iconic and revered skiers’ mountain located in Ligonier, PA. The slopes were originally designed by European skiing legend Johann "Hannes" Schneider, the renowned Austrian ski guide and inventor of the Arlberg Method, the basis of modern alpine ski technique. entered World War II, and some of the original structures, including the storied Midway Cabin, still stand on the property. Once an exclusive club for the most prestigious residents of Pennsylvania, Laurel Mountain was gifted to the commonwealth in 1964 and is now a winter playground for everyone. With its rich history and majestic long-range views, Laurel Mountain stands as testament to the strength of the region’s ski industry. Just 72 miles east of Pittsburgh, Laurel Mountain joins its neighboring sister resorts, Seven Springs and Hidden Valley, to create the premier snowsports destination in the region.

Winter 25/26...one memory at a time. ❄️

From first chair to last run, this season at Laurel Mountain was full of the moments that make this place so special. Skiing Lower Wildcat, cruising Dream Highway, and riding Wildcat Chair with friends and family by your side.

It’s the little traditions, too. S’mores by the fire, cheering on the Cardboard Derby, and evenings that we didn’t want to end thanks to great entertainment that kept the night going.

These are the moments that turn into memories we carry with us year after year.

That’s a wrap on the 25/26 winter season at Laurel Mountain! 🌄❄️

What a winter it’s been. From powder days to bluebird views, this season was packed with unforgettable moments, great turns and even better company. And if yesterday was any indication, we closed things out in true Laurel style. Our Luau and Cardboard Derby brought the fun, the creativity and plenty of laughs. It was the perfect send-off to an incredible season. 🏄‍♂️📦

To everyone who came out and made memories with us this winter, THANK YOU! Laurel is special because of this community.

And remember… this isn’t goodbye, it’s just see ya later. 👋❄️

Some slopes don’t just challenge you… they shape you. ⛷️🖤

Lower Wildcat, known as the steepest slope in Pennsylvania, has shaped generations of skiers.

For our Ski Patrol, Lower Wildcat is more than a trail, it’s where skills are sharpened, limits are tested, and real confidence is earned.

“I first skied Lower Wildcat back in 1999 when I was 14, and that trail has been part of my story at Laurel Mountain ever since. From becoming an instructor at 16 to patrolling here for the past six years, training on Lower Wildcat has always felt equal parts humbling and exhilarating. Steep, double fall line, and nowhere to hide with the chairlift audience watching. It’s truly a blessing to have a hill like this to train on, push limits, and still have a whole lot of fun.”

❄️ Snow is in the forecast for Monday, March 2, so we’re opening Laurel Mountain for the day to get you out on the slopes! A huge shout‑out to our flexible, hardworking staff for making it happen! 💙

🌷 Spring mode: activated! Then we are shifting into spring operations, which means we’ll be closed mid‑week. ❄️➡️🌤️
