No Books No Ball Basketball Program No Books No Ball “Over 30 years teaching more than Basketball”

WWW.NOBOOKSNOBALL.COM Basketball aptitude can often translate into athletic scholarships.

The No Books No Ball (NBNB) Basketball Program is committed to increasing the high school graduation rate of at risk children and others within the communities that we serve. We believe that all students are capable of academic success and we seek to use basketball as a means to achieve that end. By linking athletic prowess with academic eligibility we want to encourage our student athletes to gra

duate from high school. Our longer term objective is to encourage our student athletes to attend college. We encourage our student athletes to leverage their basketball skills to get these scholarships to help defray the cost of today’s college education. Through NBNB, students learn the importance of team work, school work, discipline, perseverance, goal setting and other positive reinforcements. We strive to teach the Five Characteristics of Good Democratic Behavior:

Cooperate

Be Creative

Keep an Open Mind

Accept Responsibility

Have Concern for Others

Congratulations to NBNB’s very own Coach Jakhi Dean on graduating from New England Law Boston today.

Jakhi has been apart of the NBNB family since he was 7 years old and for the last 4 years has served as a dedicated coach, volunteer, and mentor to our youth.

We are proud of you Jakhi and grateful to be apart of your village and journey. Your hard work, leadership, and commitment to giving back to the next generation does not go unnoticed.

Congratulations to 🚫📚🚫🏀 alum (Taina Mair) on being selected in the 1st Round, 14th pick by the Seattle Storm!

From the very beginning, Taina, you’ve been a star—on the court and in the classroom. Soon to be graduating from the prestigious Duke University, you’ve shown what it truly means to balance excellence in academics and athletics.

Since your P*e Wee days, your passion, toughness, and scrappy style set you apart. And as part of a co-ed program, you’ve always stepped on the court ready to compete—never backing down from the boys.

Keep inspiring the next generation of lady hoopers who are watching your journey and dreaming big because of you.

Your NBNB and Boston family are SO proud of you. Much love always 💙

No Books No Ball Basketball Program continues to stress the importance of education first. We are proud to highlight our reading literacy program across all of our divisions:

•P*e Wee (Ages 7–9)
•Juniors (Ages 10–13)
•Youth (Ages 14–17)

This mini series captures how our student-athletes take part in academic programming before each of their games. From reading literacy for our younger divisions to college and career readiness support for our older student-athletes, we remain committed to preparing them for success both on and off the court.

For our Youth Division, we also implemented Your Next Play: Paths During & After High School, which provides structure around college, career, and postsecondary planning.

All of our student-athletes are required to participate in these academic programs before each of their games, helping them stay sharp academically while preparing for life outside of basketball.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters.

Shoutout to on winning Cities today.

From P*e Wees to City Champions.

Same brothers. Same bond. Different stage.

You all aren’t new to winning championships.

What you learn at NBNB isn’t just basketball — it’s relationships, loyalty, and growing together. Watching y’all win one as p*e wee’s… and now again as young men? That’s special.

Proud of you @617.ian

Excited to announce we’re officially at the halfway mark of our season!

As we continue pushing our student-athletes on the court, we’re investing even deeper in their future off the court.

We’re launching YOUR NEXT PLAY:
Paths During & After High School

Starting Saturday, February 21, this mandatory College & Career Series is designed specifically for our current NBNB Youth Division student-athletes in Grades 7–11.

Scholars will receive guidance on:
• College, trade, and career exploration
• Resume building & summer job prep
• Applications & essay writing
• Financial aid & scholarship support
• Study skills, self-advocacy & leadership development

We’re opening minds to what’s possible — during high school and beyond.
