Quick race review & training update (abridged version 👇)
Raced a 10k in August. It was meh. Raced another 10k 7 weeks later. It was notably better. Why? 3 main reasons. First, worked on my mental game using the advice of run performance coach Shannon Thompson Second, trained a s**t ton between the 2 races and leaned into slower recovery mileage for a change. Last, added some Lex flair for added inspiration. So, leveled up mentally, physically & spiritually? Yeah, let’s go with that.

RWM COFFEE ESCAPADE: CICADA COFFEE BAR Cicada
Cicada is a small, off the beaten path gem known for its Sea Salt Shaker, which did not disappoint. The staff is super friendly and patient and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. Don’t take your laptop here to work as no laptops are allowed and, yes, they do enforce this rule. You have to actually sit and talk to your friends or ponder life’s great mysteries. Imagine that? Heather MacLean & Laura Green joined me for this one, both of them big coffee fans. We all enjoyed it. And my final rating was a straight up A. I highly recommend and would definitely come back. Stay tuned. More coming.

Lex girls tackled the very challenging course Manchester Invite with grit and tenacity on Saturday. And it definitely paid off. Once again, they laid down another strong building block as they continue to work toward their season goal. Flight was the theme of the weekend, clearly. And coffee. 🥇🦅☕️
