The Blossom of the Evening

Front row at The Center For Arts Natick (TCAN) for Twin Peaks: Conversation with the Stars, with Bobby, Lucy, and Leland.

I didn’t know what to expect, and it ended up being quirky, hilarious, and heartwarming, and it brought me right back to Emerson, where I first studied this show.

I shared it with someone who appreciated every odd, wonderful moment as much as I did. We laughed through so much of it, and it was truly “the full blossom of the evening.”

What Set Me Free

I let myself outgrow a practice, a teacher, and versions of myself.

The practice asks nothing of me. Nothing to earn, nothing to prove.

Meditation is meditation whether it’s an hour or one breath.

Rest is part of the practice, not the break from it.

I don’t need a reason to make something, or to make nothing.

Grief doesn’t need to be spoken to be real.

All of it brought me here.

What a weekend!
It ended tonight at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, celebrating my friend Melissa Clark

Melissa hosted a thank you event for her real estate clients, and it was truly gorgeous. Sakshi Singh’s art exhibition premiered there too, filling the space with something beautiful to look at all night.

People told me some version of the same story tonight. That Melissa made them feel heard and respected while getting them the right homes.

Congratulations, Melissa. What a beautiful way to close out this weekend.

On the way to Paisley’s summer swim championships, we stopped by the best bakery. It’s in Milford, inside the Hickey Liquor store. No joke.

You have to get there early because their hours are limited. I’ve loved everything I’ve had there. This time it was an Earl Grey black sesame cookie, and it was so freaking good.

I feel so lucky today. I got to practice at Common Ground this morning in a class taught by Anne, and it was so much what I needed today.

Which is why I'm so happy to say I've been invited to lead my own evening there.

Sacred Ground: A Friday Night to Finally Land Friday, August 21st, 5:30-6:45 PM Common Ground Yoga, Framingham

The evening opens with restorative yoga. Supported shapes, bolsters, blankets, stillness. A practice that invites you to simply receive. Then the crystal singing bowls begin, and the tension you didn't even know you were holding starts to let go.

Bring anything that helps you feel at home on your mat. Studio props will be available. Come cozy. This is for the version of you that needs it most.
