What a summer!

Our Junior and Senior Coaches grew as young leaders, young players discovered their passion for soccer, and together we grew the game across Boston. As the only GOALS hub site in Massachusetts, we’re proud to bring this opportunity to local programs and over a hundred of youth in our community.

Huge thanks to Youth Employment & Opportunity (YEO) Massachusetts Youth Soccer and all our partners who brought kids to the site every week. See you next summer!

We are so grateful to Emmy O’Donnell for choosing us to receive a grant from Gatorade’s Community Grant program! Emmy is the Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Soccer Player of the Year, and we are so proud with her. Thank you, Emmy!

From Boston to the world stage, today 22 Soccer Unity Project players are escorting England and Ghana onto the pitch at the FIFA World Cup in Foxborough, and we couldn’t be more proud 🌍⚽ Once-in-a-lifetime doesn’t even begin to cover it. Thank you Common Goal and Quaker for making this opportunity possible!

Next up in our Heart of Soccer Unity Project Series: Junior Coach Alejandro Aviles! ⚽💙

If there is one thing you notice about Alejandro the moment he steps on the field, it is his love for the game. His knowledge of soccer runs deep, and that passion shows in every session he leads and every player he works with.

Since joining our Junior Coach program last summer, Alejandro has grown a lot as a coach. He came in with a strong soccer background, and over this past year he has really developed the skills to take what he knows and turn it into programming that works for kids. Watching that growth has been one of the highlights of this past year.

What drives Alejandro is simple: he loves this sport, and he wants the players around him to love it too. That energy is contagious, and the kids feel it every single session.

This fall, Alejandro takes his next step at UMass Boston, and we cannot wait to see where that same passion and dedication carries him.

This is the caption - Next up in our Heart of Soccer Unity Project Series: Junior Coach Addison Voight! ⚽💙

Addison’s connection to Soccer Unity Project runs deep. She grew up through South End Soccer, played on our travel teams, and has now been coaching with us for three years. She knows the impact Soccer Unity Project can have on a young player, and it shows in how she coaches.

Addison has a quiet way of making everyone around her feel taken care of, the players, her fellow junior coaches, and our staff. She is dependable, considerate, and someone the whole team can lean on. On the field, that steadiness carries through to the kids, who thrive with a coach they know has their back.

For Addison, coaching at Soccer Unity Project is about access and care. Making sure kids who might not get support elsewhere have someone in their corner who genuinely wants them to love the game and stick with it.

This fall, Addison heads to San Diego State University, and we could not be prouder of the coach and person she has become.

Next up in our Heart of Soccer Unity Project Series: Junior Coach Mariaeliza Vasquez Suazo!⚽💙

Mari’s story is one of growth, grit, and finding her voice, and she has done all of that right here with Soccer Unity Project. Over three years as a Junior Coach, she has been a steady, dependable presence on the field, showing up season after season as both the program and the players around her have grown.

What makes Mari stand out is that she has always had something to say, and coaching has given her the stage to say it with confidence, patience, and purpose. Whether she’s keeping her composure in a tough moment or earning the trust of a young player, she leads with a calm strength that makes kids feel seen.

This fall, Mari takes her next big step, heading to Suffolk University, and we couldn’t be prouder. She is a bright light and a true example of what it looks like when a young person grows into their potential and carries that forward.

Next up in our Heart of Soccer Unity Project Series: Junior Coach Rayan Baana! ⚽💙

Rayan has been part of Soccer Unity Project as a Junior Coach since last summer, bringing kindness, positivity, and a deep love for soccer to the field.

As one of the youngest members of our workforce development program, Rayan has continued to grow into his role with patience and confidence. For him, coaching is rooted in the belief that growth matters more than performance. He brings that mindset to every on field session, showing up with a steady presence that helps players feel supported as they try new things and build confidence through the game.

Over the past year, Rayan has grown as a coach, leader, and role model both on and off the field. This summer, he will continue that journey as one of our youth leaders representing Soccer Unity Project at Festival 26!

Next up in our Heart of Soccer Unity Project Series: Junior Coach Lucy Kimmel Robidoux! ⚽💙

Lucy’s time with Soccer Unity Project is a true full-circle story. She started playing with South End Soccer as a little girl, grew up through our grassroots and travel programs, and now is a leader in our community as a Junior Coach. Her growth is a powerful example of what happens when young people grow up in a community that believes in them and then get the chance to lead within it.

As one of our first junior coaches, Lucy has brought consistency, care, humor, and joy to our fields. She has been part of the growth of our Junior Coach program, helping shape a culture where young leaders are trusted, supported, and empowered to create welcoming spaces for the next generation of players.

Whether she’s offering thoughtful insight or being the super funky chicken, Lucy reminds us that youth leadership is about showing up with joy and making sure every player feels like they belong.

Kicking off our Heart of Soccer Unity Project Series with Junior Coach - Erikson Andrade! ⚽💙

Erikson is a rising senior at Tech Boston Academy and one of the younger leaders in our workforce development program. Since he first started coaching with us last summer, Erikson has continued to show up through the fall and winter seasons eager to learn, growing in his confidence, finding his coaching voice, and becoming a consistent presence for our grassroots players.

Quiet, thoughtful, and steady, Erikson leads in a way that makes kids feel supported. He has worked hard to develop his skills as a coach, and that growth has paid off in the way players respond to him.
